This July 4 in particular was one where you needed to put your phone away for the day. Trump, in typical form, was trying to make the celebrations all about himself by showing up to every big event and basically turning them into lite MAGA rallies. He can never not be the center of attention and he turned what should have been a unifying day into a partisan divisive one.

But if you got off the internet and just celebrated the day with friends and family, it was great. Hot summer day, good food, good events, good fireworks. Ahh.

I do regret not seeing the airshow though lol. Shit looked proper epic.

Rugian pretends to be unfamiliar with the concept that this national identity is a fantasy, a human ocnstruct. Complete stranges you've never heard of who died decades before you existed and who you wouldnt give a dime to in the streets if their life depended on it suddenly become almost family for a few seconds when it serves your ego to pretend youre a mighty warrior who fought against Vietnamns.
