Its a uniquely american thing to laugh at people and say "Wait - you trust a politician? Rofl!" and then blindly and religiously trust the politicians of their own party to the point that they shock the rest of the world. Its this kind of thing that makes the rest of the world go, wow, americans are stupid.

Its tradition, for example in the UK, to complain almost as much or as much about the politicians in your own party as the opposing party - but not so in the USA. There, compared to the rest of the developed world, they worship the leaders of their party. When they scoff at the concept of trusting politicians, they mean solely and nothing else but the other party. And, as always, its those Americans who brag the loudest about what theyre the worst at.
