Utopia Talk / Politics / Libertarian Party: "Abolish ICE"
|

rank | Mon Jan 26 05:05:31 Libertarian National Committee chair: ‘Abolish ICE’ Steven Nekhaila, the chair of the Libertarian National Committee, was unequivocal in the wake of a Border Patrol agent fatally shooting an American citizen in Minneapolis: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished, he said. In a lengthy statement the Libertarian Party posted Saturday to the social platform X, Nekhaila said ICE “was created in a national security context, blending immigration enforcement with counterterrorism culture, equipment, and mindset.” “Do not be fooled,” he added. “Every justification for state violence will be depersonalized, amplified, and systematized until it is a permanent feature of governance.” “Abolish ICE. Reform the broken immigration system. Do not give the police state an inch.” ICE was formed in 2003 by the Homeland Security Act, passed in the wake of the terror attacks oF Sept. 11, 2001. But Nekhaila, whose party backs a welcoming immigration policy and supports protecting civil liberties, said the tactics of ICE and Customs and Border Protection embody “occupation-style policing.” The fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, both 37-year-old U.S. citizens, in Minneapolis this month has sparked renewed backlash against the Trump administration’s widespread deployment of ICE and Customs and Border Protection personnel to Democratic-run cities nationwide. A memo signed by acting ICE Director Todd Lyons last year and obtained by The Associated Press earlier this week also authorized agency personnel to enter homes and arrest migrants without a judicial warrant, if they have a signed administrative warrant and a final order of removal issued by a judge. The Fourth Amendment, though, protects individuals against “unreasonable searches and seizures” and requires authorities to obtain a warrant with probable cause to justify a search. Nekhaila cited that memo Saturday, saying ICE is justifying its officers’ ability to enter homes without a judicial warrant via “an assertion by fiat, not a principle recognized by the Constitution, statute, or the courts.” “The Fourth Amendment does not bend to agency memos,” he noted. https://th...ertarian-party-criticizes-ice/ |

rank | Mon Jan 26 10:27:13 Foreskin thinks there are “leftist” libertarians. Fucking retard has to categorize everything he disagrees with as leftist. Bootlicking, propaganda-swallowing imbecile Him and Cherub should breed. They would produce the dumbest fucking kids the world has ever seen |

rank | Mon Jan 26 13:23:33 "You may identify as a Libertarian in the same manner that I may identify as an attack helicopter Forwyn." If you can be a Christian without embracing the teachings of Jesus, then you can be a libertarian while supporting big right wing authoritarian government. This is America after all. - |

rank | Mon Jan 26 17:40:39 "Deporting people is authoritarian" Because apparently Donald Trump invented deporting people. Because apparently Obama and Biden and Clinton and Bush didn't deport people. Kicking in doors without a warrant is authoritarian. Roughing people up to terrorize and intimidate them is authoritarian. Murdering people for resisting your authoritarianism is authoritarian. Flooding cities with militarized thugs is authoritarian. "Anyone who still identifies as a libertarian is retarded. You cannot live and let live with people who hate you. It's the shopping cart meme at national scale." I'm glad to see that you've finally stopped lying to yourself and everyone else. - |

rank | Mon Jan 26 18:10:04 Deporting illegals isn't indicative of a police state, even if the illegal was in a house when they were detained, even if a pack of leftists is standing on the street screaming about it. |
|
murder
rank | Mon Jan 26 18:15:21 No, cities flooded with masked federal agents snatching anyone who looks like they're "not American" and demanding that they prove that they are here legally ... if they even bother to give them that chance ... is indicative of a police state. Federal agents breaking into people's homes and beating up and/or killing protesters is indicative of a police state. - |

rank | Mon Jan 26 18:23:18 "Mass deportations is messy so we shouldn't do it" Sorry, cursory checks are 100% warranted, and licenses are not a guarantee because states decided to issue licenses to illegals. "breaking into people's homes" Again, you're not safe from deportation just because you're sitting on the couch in your rental. |
|
murder
rank | Mon Jan 26 18:31:53 Again, Obama deported more people, and it wasn't "messy". But his goal wasn't to make a mess. |

murder
rank | Mon Jan 26 18:34:16 "Sorry, cursory checks are 100% warranted, and licenses are not a guarantee because states decided to issue licenses to illegals." Not only are they not warranted, they're not constitutional. "Again, you're not safe from deportation just because you're sitting on the couch in your rental." Again, you're wrong. If the authorities don't have a judicial warrant, you are safe. Unless of course you believe that laws and rights are only there to protect the people you like and that are like you. - |
|
Forwyn
rank | Mon Jan 26 19:16:29 The vaunted trickle deportations. Sorry, that's not what people voted for. "If the authorities don't have a judicial warrant" No proof of this |

rank | Mon Jan 26 20:45:08 Forwyn, I'll remind you that we are NOT democracy, but rather a Constitutional Republic. We require a higher level of support to overide the constitution than 51% for good reason. |

rank | Mon Jan 26 20:48:31 Basically all of foreskin's arguments nowadays: "Sorry, cursory checks are 100% warranted" Source: he made it up And then he will do some form of "lol" as if it's so obvious and true. My dumbfuck cousin acts that way and he's an autistic imbecile who everyone hates. Can't imagine it must be much different from foreskin's real-life interactions. |

Forwyn
rank | Mon Jan 26 20:52:25 How would you go about deporting millions of illegals with fake documents, Cuckhat? |
|
Forwyn
rank | Mon Jan 26 20:54:02 Silly question. You wouldn't. Every argument hemming and hawing about tactics and procedure ultimately boils down to: you don't want deportations. These are the same people spouting, "No illegals on stolen land". |

rank | Mon Jan 26 20:58:01 I mean, we can have ICE do it and things take a bit longer, follow standard due process, not remain anonymous etc. I get the trade off, I admit they seem to be getting shit done. But it seems like they are over zealous and being reckless AF. Partially I think that's with intent to discourage ppl from coming. |
|
Dukhat
rank | Mon Jan 26 20:58:18 People like are so fucking uneducated about anything. It's so clear your knowledge of the world is completely politicized and mostly comes from online echo chamber sources. Everything has the taint of replacement theory bullshit to it. We don't need a fucking 80-year old strongman with dementia and a crew of aggressive, incompetent nitwits to secure our borders. |
|
Dukhat
rank | Mon Jan 26 20:59:58 They aren't getting any shit done. Minnesota barely has any illegal immigrants compared to hotspots in the south. The "surge" was based off some bullshit video by some dumbass 20-year old MAGA influencer. Like everything Trump does, it's all manufactured bullshit that dumbasses like Foreskin now swallow whole because they don't know how to fucking get off the internet. |
|
Forwyn
rank | Mon Jan 26 21:02:07 "The way we did it before where normal citizens weren't harassed and nobody died." Yes. The trickle bullshit again. You're right though, Trump's issue is that he isn't deporting hard enough. |

rank | Mon Jan 26 21:20:26 Habebe: Of course they are reckless. They are literally hiring all those right wing milita types. This isn't a terrible error. This is intentional. In the first trump admin they used ICE to put down BLM protests, without ID badges etc. signalling it's use as a Maga paramilitary force. Then you have Jan 6 and the pardons - again the message is "do violence for me, personally, and I'll protect you". And then this second term they massively expand ICE, cut back on and hiring requirements, and a big salary, and send them off to blue states and cities. "Come, proud boys, and become official" It doesn't take a genius to see what is going on here. The admin is building a paramilitary force of ideological supporters, using state patronage, that are personally loyal to the individuals in power. Part of the reason for sending them to run amok in places like Minneapolis is precisely so their hands are dipped in blood, so to speak. They know if the Trump admin changes, they'll at best risk getting sacked, at worst getting prosecuted. This isn't 9d chess, this is literally how every totalitarian govt does state capture. |

rank | Mon Jan 26 23:31:03 And cuckservatives are so absurdly reductive now which is why foreskin has to end everything with an "LOL or ROFL" as if he revealed some great truth that he can see and nobody else does. You know you can deport more people without having gangs of thugs with AR15's and shooting unarmed civilians right? Their brains can't see nuance after choosing to willfully expose themselves to constant far-right social media brain rot. |

rank | Tue Jan 27 00:22:37 ”end everything with an "LOL or ROFL" " It's not our fault that almost everything you say is strait from a hilarious meme making fun of libs. Rofl. "You know you can deport more people without having gangs of thugs with AR15's and shooting unarmed civilians right?" Not if left wing dunces rile up far left crazies and trannies. Them every anti immigration operation also needs to be armed well enough to defeat one of your tranny/antifa ambushes. https://en...Alvarado_ICE_facility_incident |

None the less, remember this. *****when the Federal government gains powers, it NEVER gives them up freely.***** None of us want to see the anonymous tranny brigade (IDK what acronym they may use)masked up breaking into and arresting meme posters and shit. |

rank | Tue Jan 27 00:42:48 Should let ICE continue doing their job. As with Cain and Abel, the blood of our brother Alex Pretti is crying out from the ground Because Alex Pretti could have been any of us. He could’ve been me, you, your neighbor, or your rabbi. In fact, many of my rabbinic colleagues and friends are on the streets of Minneapolis at this very moment. They are brave, patriotic and principled, and having known some of them for many years, I know that they, like Pretti, would protect the most vulnerable, even at unfathomable cost. […] No longer are “they” coming only for “illegal” immigrants, legal immigrants arriving at their court dates, permanent residents, Latinos, Asians, Somalians, veterans, and Black off-duty police officers. “They” are now coming for us.
