TW, You specifically mention your really unhappy with how major Right-wing media (MRW) covers CRT because of the lies.

But which is more of a lie.

1. Claiming they are teaching CRT in public schools when the term CRT is being expanded to mean CRT inspired and similar ideas to CRT/1619.

OR

2. Just claiming this is a made up boogeyman and that millions of parents are just imagining this as much of the media has covered it?

What makes Fox and MRW worse in this particular aspect?

are schools teaching that white people are inherently evil? and calling for the end of Western civilization?

if so, name the schools, have someone from the school come on and defend the position... someone there has to be proud of it & willing to defend it

it blew up because Christopher Rufo said it was happening, not because streams of parents were being shocked at what their kids were coming home saying

the problem as i've noted multiple times is no one is talking about the same thing (& the Right is full of fucking liars)

Schools or school districts in Chicago; Newark, N.J.; Buffalo, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. all announced 1619 Project-related events. The Pulitzer Center’s annual report says more than 3,500 classrooms used the materials.

Also, at least anecdotally there ate plenty of parents saying just that.

But again to summarize.

The Republicans have taken the term CRT to encompass a multitude of related "woke" ideas in education.

Why? Its easier for messaging than some rambling list like how some people call all bandages as bandaids.

Again here is information being taught in US schools. It is not CRT by the narrow definition of tbh legal theory. But it very clearly is the sort thing under the blanket term being used by people like Youngkin.

Would you call a Neo-Nazi a white supremacist? By a very narrow definition they are Aryan supremacists.

i'm not saying some parents might have concerns about some topics, i'm saying there is a lot of fucking lying going on

does the 1619 Project teach that whites are inherently evil? does that equity page say it?

but we agree the Right is trying to shove tons of things into the term 'CRT'... it was Rufo's strategy:

"We have successfully frozen their brand—"critical race theory"—into the public conversation and are steadily driving up negative perceptions. We will eventually turn it toxic, as we put all of the various cultural insanities under that brand category." ~ Rufo

so if anyone on the Left defends CRT, to those listening on the Right it sounds like they are defending every crazy bullshit claim the Right claims is CRT... it was successful... congrats for team fraud

again, one of Tucker's recent comments on it (& ignoring the ridiculousness of him saying he doesn't know what it is after a year of talking about it):
https://twitter.com/NikkiMcR/status/1456051859177758727
what schools are teaching 'some races are morally superior to others, that some inherently sinful, some inherently saintly'?

and have on school representatives to defend/debate it... why wouldn't they have people who would defend it?

"The democrats decided to die on the hill of SALT taxes on the spending bill til 2031 at a cost of half a trillion dollars."

I see that you've veered off into bullshit and right wing propaganda.

TW, Therebis plenty of lies and misleading info on both sides. On this particular issue I would say it appears to me like I said before.

Yes, Reps are using the term CRT as a catch all for anti white racism. While thebledt plays dumb "What are you talking about? A legal theory isn't being taught to anyone"

While ignoring the truth that while the right is expanding a term as a catch all that SOMETHING is happening and a rose by any other name.

One of world's largest investment firms will need permission to hire White men

This headline is gold for Republicans

"Reps are using the term CRT as a catch all for anti white racism"

& tossing in a lot of fringe bullshit... & when you listen to the cultists, they repeat the extreme bullshit lies by the obvious fraud cult leader or their info sources, not things that are true

i am not confident at all the masses understand the facts of any issue at all (& yes the Left has problems too... to me it's not at the same level, but others can see it different... but there can't possibly be anyone who thinks all sides are well-informed)

debating opinions isn't what's going on, it's now debating facts

I don't know what fringe stuff your refering to, but certainly Id bet some people try to throw other things into it.

Its a problem of terms.

Woke is another term that means different things to different people.

Facts are not being debated, definitions are.
