Imagine living in a state where the leading political candidate is like "yeah if you hate high taxes, you probably shouldn't live here."

lol

NJ is a niche subsidized state because of NYC and tona pesser extent Philly. But yeah taxes are crazy.Cheaper gas than PA though nd they pump ypur gas by law, it requires a professional gas pumper.

The R seems to have had a better than usual showing so far but last I seen only 60% reporting, so still likely a Democrat.

In a surprising turn of events.

With 98% of precincts reporting, Ciattarelli was leading Murphy by about 42,200 votes, according to totals from the Associated Press. But thousands of votes have yet to be counted, and it’s unclear how many vote-by-mail and provisional ballots still have to be tallied.

It was copied and pasted from a "CNalysis report" used as a cite on the 538 website.

I don't have the page open anymore, but I'll skim around to see if I can pull that link up.Or just look up CNalysis 538 governors race.

There are these things called machines. There's no excuse for this crap. I think some people just like the drama.

"Dems can't stop stealing elections"

People who keep others from voting don't get to cry about stolen elections. Stealing elections is the GOP's plan A, B, and C.

Oh yeah ... and then there's the whole trying to overthrow the government thing.

STFU!

You mean asking to see an ID at the polling booth? The HORROR!

Yeah and stripping people of the right to vote. And dropping people from voter rolls for belonging to the wrong party of being from the wrong neighborhood. And for limiting polling places in minority neighborhoods and making sure they always have a shortage of ballots and broken equipment, so that people have to stand in line all day to cast their ballot.

You know, little things.

"Stripping people of the right to vote"

You mean felons and the dead? Lol.

"And dropping people from voter rolls for belonging to the wrong party of being from the wrong neighborhood."

Yeah, that doesn't happen.

"And for limiting polling places in minority neighborhoods and making sure they always have a shortage of ballots and broken equipment,"

Oh boo hoo, some people need to wait in a line to vote.

Jesus Christ you guys love making a huge issue out of nothingburgers.

Several years ago in Colorado ACORN was caught refiling voter registration cards for people in what was considered highly Republican areas. They would take the name and change the address meaning the person would have to vote provisional and then later prove address and identity. They thought most would just decide not to bother.
Also in Colorado vans that were reserved to help Republicans with a get out the vote effort were vandalized. THis has happened more than one election. Other things like this have happened in Colorado most of the wrong coming from the left. A lot of this was when Colorado was still considered a purple state. I think we are full on blue now but Democrats still try underhanded tactics often.

When I lived in Texas Democrats were encouraged to go to heavily leaning Republican areas to vote if they could and pretend they were confused by the voting machine taking as much time as they could to increase wait times. They didn't even try and hide that strategy.

"You mean felons ..."

Yes ... those citizens.

"Yeah, that doesn't happen."

It happens all the damn time. And in Florida, good luck ever getting dropped from the roll even if you never vote.

"Oh boo hoo, some people need to wait in a line to vote."

Yes, and those some people aren't white. But that's just a coincidence every single time. And your attitude towards it is not reflective at all of your predilection for white supremacy,

Stripping someone's voting rights for life because of a felony that isn't fraud related seems arbitrary .

This wasn't for the NY governor race, but: it would have been nice for Sliwa to take NYC mayor. Eric Adams more than doubled Sliwa's numbers (676,481 vs 293,127). Even Nicole Malliotakis got more than Sliwa when she ran in 2013 (316,947).

Oh well. Time for Eric Adams to kill Leonid Pavel in front of everyone.

It's a feature, not a bug. The police targets minorities and the poor. As a result minorities and the poor are even more underrepresented. Incarceration also leads to more poverty which leads to more crime which leads to more policing and so on and so on ...

Oh I agree.Im just pointing out its silliness.

Like we can probably all agree if someone is fraudulently voting or something along those it would be a fitting punishment.

Msnbc thinks that the same people who voted for Biden are now klansmen.

They are blaming white supremacy for losing the election. Not thinking how anything they did was wrong or unpopular.

Murder forgets the fucked up 2nd part. The GOP builds huge prisons to fill with minorities on trumped up drug charges because "tough shit." Then those prisoners get added to the population of a gerrymandered district that looks like an ink blot test so those prisoners all help keep in power the assholes who put them there while not having the ability to vote.

Biden doesn't have anything going for him. Corona turned bad because of the delta and the swift collapse of Afghanistan made him look incompetent. Delta variant turned the markets south when they were rebounding nicely and has added to supply chain woes.

Housing also looks like it might be bursting soon.

Biden hasn't used the bully pulpit that well though no president has for a while.

Your Absolutley right. This should stop. They do it with illegals as well, CA lets in illegal immigrants to inflate their population and gain voting power through breaking the law.

Texas lets in a shit-ton too. Don't lie to yourself. They are wall-to-wall at every home depot in even deep red areas and nobody says shit.

The census is meant to count population period. Illegals wouldn't come here if there wasn't jobs that were available for them to do.

So you admit both Parties gain political power by shady means.

But yes,its worse if Republicans do it somehow.

Just like "lets go Brandon" is somehow worse than #fuck Trump.

The Republican strategy of building a prison-political complex is more fucked up than learning to live with illegal immigrants.

If you can't discern why that is, you're reasoning is fucked up.

Oh listen, I'm all for banning for profit prisons.

Im not so sure it was a single one minded plot, actually that seems extremely unlikely since this system has been around long before prison populations were large enough to matter.

But you always have this attitude of its the republucams doing the vast majority of shady shit and itnjust seems hackey.
Dukhat

Its Republicans doing the vast majority of shady shit now. If you expose a Democratic scandal, they tend to lose. If you expose a republican scandal, they win re-election.

So much whataboutism and I still don't care about CRT or all that other shit. MacCliffe or whatever the hell his name is was a fucking moron for playing into the CRT narrative.
Dukhat

Which is to say Habebe will bring up the whataboutism where look at what this democrat did and it will be dwarfed by the Republican corruption and bullshit.
Habebe

What you call whataboutism is me pointing out that you only ever point out one side of a story while neglecting the reality of the situation.

TW does it a lot as well where he will attatch anything anyone remotely right wing should carry the baggage of all others, but the reverse somehow doesnt apply.

NJ Republican wants to wait for all the votes to be counted, apparently there are still 10s of thousands of votes not yet counted.

Tw, They use the same.language with Repubs.

There's never a reason to "concede" until all votes are counted.

1. Count votes.

2. Declare winner.

Everyone is focused on who different news organizations declare to have won as early as possible, but they don't have any authority to determine the winner.

I will say I really like the improvements to election transparency in VA.

People bitch that Reps were chasing a made up problem, and that may or mayn't be true but the end result is that they now can tell where every vote came from.
