If someone's profession is sufficient to discard their statements regardless of merit, absolutely nothing you have said outside of the efficiencies of shelf placement is relevant to anything. Rugian might be correct. The author is trying to promote socialism. The spirit of the article is that Canada is better than the US and that Canadians are happier than Americans because of socialism.

The article also contains a derogatory analogy that the United States is a meth lab, that Americans hate each and kill each other, and he likens the President of the United States to a liar and a fraud.

The author is obviously very anti-American.
