I mean, this was already known. To their credit, BLM has never really hidden who they are or what their agenda is.

It's the establishment media, and the guilty white leftists who don't know any better, that chiefly deserve the blame for elevating this Marxist shit into the mainstream.

[Rugian]: "It's the establishment media, and the guilty white leftists who don't know any better, that chiefly deserve the blame for elevating this Marxist shit into the mainstream."

John Oliver has been doing this quite a bit lately. He outright lied on his June 7th show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf4cea5oObY
[Oliver, 25:50 in video]: "One even broader idea that's gaining momentum right now is 'De-Funding the Police'. Now, that's a phrase that on its face may sound alarming to some ... [tangent dig at Tucker Carlson] ... De-funding the police absolutely does not mean that we eliminate all cops and just succumb to the Purge. Instead, it's about moving away from a narrow conception of public safety that relies on policing and punishment, and investing in a community's actual safety net — things like stable housing, mental health services, and community organizations. The concept is that the role of the police can then significantly shrink because they are not responding to the homeless, or to mental health calls, or arresting children in schools, or really any other situation where the best solution is not someone showing up with a gun. That is the idea behind 'de-fund the police', if you actually listen to it."

Wow, yeah, sounds very logical, right? The De-Fund movement just wants to re-allocate resources but still keep a budget-minimized police force that only responds to a small number of issues. The Guardian makes the same claim ("What does 'defund the police' mean? The rallying cry sweeping the US – explained" http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/05/defunding-the-police-us-what-does-it-mean ). It "absolutely" does not mean removing all police. It only means the moderate position that Oliver/Guardian believes that it should take. Sounds logical. No worries, then!

Meanwhile, at the Minneapolis protest earlier on the same day that Oliver delivered his monologue:

[Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey]: “You have to take responsibility here. I’ve been coming to grips with my own brokenness in this situation, my own failures, my own shortcomings. And I know there needs to be deep-seated structural reform, in terms of how the department operates. The systemic racist system needs to be revamped. The police union needs to be put in its place. And we need to make sure that everything, from the union contract to the way that the arbitration functions, to the way that our officers, and the culture, and the department behaves, we know [inaudible]”
[De-fund Speaker]: “Jacob Fry, we have a yes or no question for you: Yes or no, will you commit to de-funding Minneapolis Police Department?”
[Frey]: “The abolishment of it?”
[De-fund Speaker]: “What did I say?”
[Frey]: “The abolishment?”
[De-fund Speaker]: “We don't want no mo' police. Is that clear? We don't want people with guns toting around in our community, shooting us down. You have an answer. It is a yes or a no. It is a yes or a no. Will you de-fund the Minneapolis Police Department?"
[Frey; shaking head “no”; audio unclear]: “Not like this. I can’t answer for you.”
[Protestor 1]: “He said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘No.’”
[De-fund Speaker]: “All right, be quiet y’all. Be quiet because it’s important that we actually hear this. It’s important that we hear this because if y’all don’t know, he’s up for reelection next year. If y’all don’t know, he’s up for reelection next year. And if he says, “No,” guess what the fuck we’re going to do next year?”
[Frey]: “I can’t support the abolishment of the police department.”
[Protestor 2]: “Louder, one more time.”
[Frey]: "I cannot support the full abolition of the police department."”
[De-fund Speaker]: “Get the fuck outta here! Go! Go! Go!”
[Protestor 3]: “Alright! Get the fuck! BYE! Get the fuck outta here! You’re wasting our time! Get the fuck out!”
[De-fund Speaker and Protestor 3]: “Go home, Jacob. Go home!”
[Crowd]: “Shame! Shame! Shame!”
[Protestor 4]: “What the fuck did he even come out here for?”
[Protestor 3]: “Why the fuck you come? That was pointless!”
[De-fund Speaker]: “Get the fuck outta here, Jacob Frey!”

..
Yeah, totes. They just want to re-allocate resources. Ignore the "Police Abolition Now" protestors. And don't mention that "A veto-proof majority of the [Minneapolis] council announced plans to disband its police department and invest in community-based public safety programs" ( http://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2020/06/12/minneapolis-city-council-unanimously-votes-to-replace-police-with-community-led-model/#4c79436c71a5 ). Their plan may not be the same as the protesters', though. They plan to meet on July 24th to outline preliminary recommendations. Let's see how much they backtrack into the moderate position. The abolition protesters may not be paying attention at that point, so they may not notice the "de-fund" has been successfully re-defined.

I'm sure John Oliver's retraction will be forthcoming.
