Longtime Trump associate Roger Stone was found guilty on Friday of lying to Congress and other charges in a case that has shed new light on President Donald Trump's anticipation of the release of stolen Democratic emails in 2016 by WikiLeaks.

Stone, a political operative, was found guilty of all seven counts brought by the Justice Department, a victory for special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. Stone was found guilty on five counts of lying to Congress, one of witness tampering, and one of obstructing a Congressional committee proceeding.

anyone familiar w/ him will know he was quite a dirtbag (as is typical w/ Trump associates)

also is the guy w/ a giant Nixon tattoo on his back... to get yet more Nixon links to Trump

and we learned Trump lied under oath to Mueller
(although it's a 'i don't recall' lie, which was 'Trump's answer on basically every of the limited written questions... which his lawyers answered for him... so won't lead to perjury)

weird she's talking about Democrats... another Trump effect perhaps

also not sure how being against -private- prisons is relevant

plus Trump will likely pardon him, so doubt he'll go to prison

"
So they now convict Roger Stone of lying and want to jail him for many years to come. Well, what about Crooked Hillary, Comey, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Shifty Schiff, Ohr & Nellie, Steele & all of the others, including even Mueller himself? Didn’t they lie?....
"
~ Trump's thought out response...

to our team of defenders: feel free to demonstrate any lies under oath by any of them, Trump sure won't (although he has accused multiple of lying under oath w/ no evidence)

even lies out of oath would be tricky

Crooked Hillary:

"there was nothing marked classified on my emails, either sent or received."

Also: muh lawyers went through all emails and turned over all work-related emails.

Oops: "The lawyers doing the sorting for Secretary Clinton in 2014 did not individually read the content of all of her e-mails, as we did for those available to us; instead, they relied on header information and used search terms to try to find all work-related e-mails among the reportedly more than 60,000 total e-mails remaining on Secretary Clinton’s personal system in 2014."

(another 14,900 found)

Comey:

Rep. Jackie Speier (D., Ca): Do you know anything about Gazprom, Director?

James Comey: I don't.

(Carter Page was a consultant for Gazprom)

Strok: testified he had nothing to do with Page FISA, but used Page letter to Comey for FISA

Page/Ohr: "either Bruce Ohr is lying or Lisa Page is lying."

McCabe: Last week the office released a report concluding McCabe did not give candid answers to investigators and his then-boss, former FBI Director James Comey, about his role in authorizing officials to give information to the media about the probe of the Clinton Foundation in 2016.

Brennan:

GOWDY: Director Brennan, do you know who commissioned the Steele dossier?

BRENNAN: I don’t.

GOWDY: Do you know if the bureau [FBI] ever relied on the Steele dossier as part of any court filing, applications?

BRENNAN: I have no awareness.

GOWDY: Did the CIA rely on it?

BRENNAN: No.

GOWDY: Why not?

BRENNAN: Because we didn’t. It wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had. It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment that was done. Uh ... it was not.

Clapper:

“Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions, or hundreds of millions of Americans?”

"No Sir. Not willingly."

Schiff:

Schiff said in his opening statement, and in TV interviews, that Trump had asked Zelensky to “make up” or “manufacture” dirt on Trump’s potential 2020 opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden. That’s not accurate. Trump asked Zelensky to investigate, not provide false information.

Mumblin' Mueller:

Claimed not to know anything about Fusion GPS, lied about phone call with Rosenstein prior to establishment of special counsel

for Hillary... were there more than 3 that had marks of classified (a circled R)? out of tens of thousands. is it certain she 'lied'? were there any clearly marked classified that you would expect her to recall? (& her lawyer statement is probably true if you gave the exact quote)

that Comey one is even weaker... is there some conspiracy theory as to why he'd lie about it? Comey was the director, i wouldn't expect him to know & remember detailed info about everyone's life (& Page was a nobody in the campaign as everyone agrees, except when trying to say how corrupt & anti-Trump it was for the FBI to use the dossier as part of the FISA warrant on him)

i'm not familiar w/ your Strzok/Ohr/Page comments*

McCabe was fired for his 'lack of candor' (which he is still contesting i believe)*

i don't know what you're accusing Brennan of (& the Clapper one is the one i was referencing, i thought that was Brennan)

Schiff is not lying under oath by spinning the facts... every single congressman in those hearings spins & misleads (especially the R's :p)

Mueller: again not sure your proof of lie, as w/ Comey he was the director, it's possible he didn't know anything about Fusion & i don't know your phone call reference

*but for any & all... if there's some clear egregious corrupt lying under oath, why do YOU think there are no charges?

Dems have full control over the strings of justice?

Roger lied repeatedly w/ clear corrupt motives (+ intimidated a witness) as he's a piece of garbage / Trump associate

i wrote that hastily as was leaving

main points being proof of those supposed lies seems weak or non-existent for most (Clapper was well debated at the time)... but A for effort

i don't see any that seems similar to Roger Stone deliberately lying to cover up his actions, not sure which pf those examples you believe warranted prosecution (& again why it didn't happen if it's so clear)

Forwyn, ever since the Clintons attempted to bring Universal Health Care to the US. The list of accusations against them has grown. We all know that Bill was impeached for lying about a blow job. At a cost of $60 million for Ken Starr's delving into White Water which led to Monica Lewinsky.

Since then the Republican Party with the instigation of the health insurance industry has been attempting to beat the dead horse of the Clintons.

Now you either want them imprisoned or you don't. Your Republican Party are either the most inept investigator/prosecutor/posse in the history of the world. OR, the Clintons are innocent.

Hell you had 2 years with all three branches of the US Government under your blanket. Yet you still couldn't put Hillary behind bars.

As my mother used to say if I was on the toilet too long. "Shit or get off the pot"

Either lying and/or exaggerating testimony is okay, or it is not.

@tw re: Comey; either Comey is unaware of one of Russia's largest gas firms and Page's connection to Russia, helping to justify the FISA request, and he is utterly incompetent and unfit for the job,

Or he lied about it. Take your pick, either is fine, really

what Schiff said wasn't testimony... but i would love to be able to charge those congressmen for the bullshit they spin in those hearings... like everything Ratcliffe says, or much of what Jordan says like deliberately making Sondland's addendum sound extra confusing, and of course Nunes (although he sucks at his job), or that new lying sycophant entering the field: Elise Stefanik

Comey might've known it was a gas company, he might have been saying he didn't know any specifics... in any case, it does not seem like it remotely warrants a perjury investigation
