ANDOVER, Minnesota - A bald eagle landed on a fire department truck during a tribute on the 17th anniversary of 9/11. Fire Chief Jerry Streich of the Andover, Minnesota Fire Department went live on Facebook to describe the event.

"Look what landed on top of the aerial on 9/11," Chief Streich said, referring to the department's aerial truck.

"Isn't that unbelievable?" he said.

"This eagle just landed on the aerial while we doing the 9/11 memorial. Phenomenal. We’re all set up here, so nobody forgets."

After perching on the equipment for a short time, the eagle flew off. The video quickly went viral with over 722,000 views in the first few hours.

I had bald eagles landing in the trees in front of my house fairly regular when I was still living on the lake.

So every town in the whole country had some dinky 9/11 memorial. Chances that a bald eagle (a borderline pest species) happens to land in the vicinity of at least one of them is approximately 100%. Chances it makes some dumb redneck or Trump voter get goosebumbs is also 100%, as we see with Shit Rod here.

Yeah Minnesota has a lot of bald eagles and bald eagles like to perch on the highest vantage point they can find. So isn't surprising but is still kinda cool.

- How the hell does an apex predator with a population numbering around 150,000 throughout an entire continent classify as “a borderline pest species”?
