"Um... yes it is, unless you are somehow arguing we should have invaded the ussr immediately after V day."

obaminated: Sure. If expansionist powers were a threat to our security, then we should have taken care of the threat.

Right?

Apparently you're oblivious to the fact that we aligned ourselves with multiple expansionist powers when we entered the war.

US involvement in WWI & WWII were nothing more than earlier versions of what the US still tries to do today ... which is shape the world by picking winners and losers.

Now you can argue that that is to benefit "our" interests, but "our" is unlikely to include you or me.

Holy crap. You are embarrassing. So lets take your idea that we should immediately invade a former ally after expending immense resources and lives to end a previous conflict. How do you accomplish that politically? How do you rebuild and restructure the countries you just destroyed? Answer those two questions, you wont because you are an edgelord who doesnt think, but try.

It's not my idea, it's your idea.

I wouldn't have invaded anyone, so we wouldn't have destroyed anything, and so not our problem.

There is no point in debating with you.

You're the one who claimed that expansionist powers were a threat to our security ... completely ignoring that there were expansionist powers on both sides of the war.

Again, no point in debating with you because you ignore context and logic. You are a level 9 edgelord. Congrats, lots of 16 year old males who live in the suburbs agree with you.

I know you hate communists Murder. So do I. But facists are pretty shitty too. Stalin was a 10 on the evil and Hitler was a 9.99. Having one go was good for the world, especially when that one was threatening literally the most modern parts of the world and our most important allies.

And if you want to talk cost-benefit; the new world order created by WWII helped us immensely in terms of economic growth. We basically got Britain to dissolve their empire thus freeing a fourth of the world to trade for American economies and forced the defeated countries to basically adopt our free-trade system as well and Germany and Japan are still the 3rd and 4th largest economies respectively.

We didn't get anything out of WWI because we joined too late and other countries suffered more. A lot of people in America felt we had joined to help arms dealers much like many Americans feel today we invaded Iraq just for oil. Because of how much they suffered and how much more they contributed; Britain demanded to keep their empire and France demanded harsh reparations.

But after WWII; America basically dictated the show and literally every country except the communist bloc became our trade buddy.

Now we take all this free trade for granted and elect retards like Trump.

Dumb white people simply want to watch the world burn.

I don't care. It was on the other side of the world and didn't affect us. Either Hitler or Stalin was going to go anyway ... we just picked a winner.

WWII was great for our economy, but not because we participated, but rather because we stayed out of most of it and the war barely touched the United States while other economic powers were getting smashed and spending themselves into debt.

416,800 dead is a fucking lousy economic stimulus.
