on the women's downhill.

Silver is not too shabby. What was cool is your skier was just too cute. She had no idea she was going to medal.

Sportsviewing is not my thing, too. But this is too good to ignore it:

GANGNEUNG, South Korea (Reuters) - Germany shocked top-seeded Sweden 4-3 after Patrick Reimer scored in overtime on Wednesday, beating the Scandinavians for the first time ever in Olympic play and booking a spot in the semi-finals of the men’s ice hockey tournament.

Canadian men's hockey team couldn't match German consistency, work ethic

There will be no gold-medal game for the Canadian men's Olympic hockey team.

It seemed like such a certainty Canada would clash with the Olympic Athletes from Russia in the final at the Pyeongchang Olympics. But nobody told the Germans they were supposed to roll over. They showed they were worthy of advancing to the semifinals with their 4-3 win in overtime over Sweden, and proved themselves once again against Canada.

It is always like that, when NHLers are not playing, at least some advantage goes to the national teams that haven’t lost any players. How different would the German national team be, if NHL sends players to Korea? My guess is that German team would be the same, maybe a few extra players. Now, the large pool of players still matters, so naturally hockey nations might still do better. Anyway, full credit to Germany. I actually watched the third period, it was the first Korean Olympic anything that I watched.

I saw a new one for me too.

A team consists of two men and two women.

They race down a Salome two men at a time or two women at a time.

Not sure how the rest of it is scored or anything. Only that it is new, I had never seen or heard of it before.

It was kind of cool.

As far as officially sanctioned events, Mixed Alpine Team is pretty much brand new (not just to the Olympics). It has only been a sanctioned event since something like 2014.
