Of course he was living in a fantasy world when he touts this. However, Trump didn't really feel that Reagan's tax cuts were all that great. Instead it was a "disaster" and caused a "depression." "On November 22, 1991 Donald Trump testified before Congressional Committee and called the Reagan 1986 Tax Reform Act a "catastrophe." His major complaints were the elimination of tax loopholes for syndication and junk bonds as well as the reduction in top earner tax brackets. He suggested taxes should be substantially increased for $200,000 income earners, specifically citing Doctors and Dentists who make $200,000 to $300,000, in order to force them (he calls incentive) to invest in real estate in order to get a reduction in taxes.
