Paris climate accord: Syria 'to sign up', isolating US

The US is set to become isolated in its stance on the Paris climate agreement, after reports that Syria is preparing to join the deal.

The Paris deal unites the world's nations in tackling climate change.

Syria and Nicaragua were the only nations outside the deal when it was agreed in 2015. Nicaragua signed in October.
In June the US said it would withdraw, but the rules of the agreement state that this cannot be done until 2020.

Meanwhile, French officials said US President Donald Trump had not been invited to December's climate summit in Paris.

This is good. The world will set the guidelines and rules, and US can not say or do anything about it. Trump is not even invited. LOL

So the US doesn't funnel money into an inept global organization, or to third-world nations with no strings attached?

Sweet.

If the brutal dictator Bashar al-Assad, who murders his own people with barrel bombs and chemical weapons, supports this agreement it has to be a bad thing. Trump is vindicated yet again.

Cold weather is 20 times as deadly as hot weather, and it's not the extreme low or high temperatures that cause the most deaths, according to a study published Wednesday.

The study found the majority of deaths occurred on moderately hot and moderately cold days instead of during extreme temperatures.

"Although the risk of mortality due to extremely cold or hot days is actually higher, they are less frequent," said lead author Antonio Gasparrini of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

The study — published in the British journal The Lancet — analyzed data on more than 74 million deaths in 13 countries between 1985 and 2012. Of those, 5.4 million deaths were related to cold, while 311,000 were related to heat.

Yes, and Iran signed the NPT.

It's not like any of the climate accords do anything to help the planet. They are just schemes to transfer wealth. They can't work without everyone agreeing anyways.

Meanwhile, The United States is supposed to spend a Trillion or two while China and India keep building a 'dirty coal' burning plant a week.

Each.

"But the real reason behind these cancellations is that the country has too much power capacity. Its fossil-fuel power plants can produce more than 1,000 GW of electricity (which is 25% more than what US fossil-fuel power plants can produce), but they run for less than half the time."

And you forgot to mention that our coal is much cleaner.

As for our regulations, Trump made good on his promise.
