Either way, it seems like this free speech protest was more of having the worst timing imaginable rather than actually being a neo-nazi protest like Charlottesville. I get that they scheduled it months in advance, but they probably shoulda just cancelled it and waited a bit for things to die down.

It would make a lot more sense here, as the "Free Speech" rally organizers explicitly said that neo-Nazis and white supremacists aren't welcome. Unless you're operating under the "everything right of the Scandinavian mainstream is far right" paradigm, then yeah, being specific helps.
