Holy shit. Just watched the video. These douchebags block the fucking street. This dude decides he wants to use the road, as is his right. He doesn't even come close to hitting anybody and clearly was trying not to. "plowing through" protesters. That is 100% bullshit.

Fake news. I fell for it. I really dislike that Trump keeps being proven right by fucking partisans in the media.

You really don't understand what fake news is, do you?

"Obama is going to take your guns!!" was fake news. There was never even a remote hint of him attempting to take guns.

Pizzagate was fake news. The story was completely false.

This is not fake news. A man did drive through protestors. He was on a motorcycle. He went straight through the group. All facts. Why you're calling it fake news is the sensationalist use of plow.

Seriously. Fake news has no truth to it. News that is slightly wrong is not fake news, it's just poor quality. There's a very big difference.

Though my brain has limited activity. I blame that because I still can't grasp onto the notion that media uses headlines to grab attention to readers. Then again, I've always been retarded.

I also fail to understand the definitions of 'plow'.

I am also retarded because it was a sanctioned protest with a permit granted by the city.

Protesters had gathered outside the San Francisco Federal Building at 7th and Mission streets at around 12:30 p.m. and were conducting a “die-in,” in which a group of around 20 people laid down on Seventh Street to block traffic, when the incident occurred.

Lee said the man then turned around and began to come back through the crowd.

Federal police officers on the scene ordered him to stop and one pulled out a gun when he initially failed to listen to orders to get off his bike, Lee said.

Police Officer Robert Rueca said there were no injuries as a result of the incident. The suspect is in custody but charges have not yet been determined.

It was a small protest that got far more interest nationally than it would have if not for the cyclist. I'm certain the protesters appreciate his willingness to help draw attention to the protest. Seems that everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.

Originally the protesters blocked the Federal entrance and were removed. Not sure the permit allowed blocking the street(I doubt that it did).

This is one of the perk of riding a motorcycle, you can pass through spaces where a car can't.

I give him 5 out 5 Revs

We were inconvenienced when we were inconveniencing others! WAAAAA!

Is a good summary of what happened in that video.

The police did not shoot anyone?

"The suspect is in custody but charges have not yet been determined."

That's because he broke no laws.

Everyone involved with the arrest should be fired, and the one who drew his gun should go to jail.

They could charge him with reckless endangerment.

Lying in the street is far more reckless than driving on it.

I highly doubt he will be charged with reckless endangerment. Minor traffic violation possibly for traveling the wrong direction on a one way street.

California Vehicle Code 23104, reckless endangerment the People must prove that:

1. The defendant drove a vehicle (on a highway/in an off-street parking facility);

2. The defendant intentionally drove with wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property

If he is charged:

A conviction for reckless driving under Vehicle Code 23103 is a misdemeanor and is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for five days to 90 days, or by a fine of one hundred forty-five dollars ($145) to one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment.

Any decent lawyer with the video evidence should easily be able to have a reckless endangerment charge dismissed if they do.

Was he actually going the wrong way?

According to witness reporting he had traveled the wrong direction. I suspect all of it will blow over like a thunder burst.

A motorcyclist who drove at a group of people demonstrating against the federal health care bill was cited on suspicion of reckless driving and released because investigators did not find evidence he intentionally tried to assault the protesters, officials said Thursday

I think he lucked out. As someone who would have sympathy for him and his actions it seemed clear to me that he raced towards them to scare them and then revved his engine in manner that could've caused harm if he screwed up. He didn't screw up and no one was hurt, but I'm frankly surprised that in 2017 and the political climate we have that he wasn't charged out of a twisted sense of justice.

They were worried that their fake "die-in" might become less fake.

I mean, he certainly seems like an instigator here, but nobody was hurt. At best, give him a moving violation for reckless driving.

Perhaps the first time in UP history in which left and right agree that the offended party are idiots and the offending party deserves some form of punishment.

Obam is right, what with all the terrorist incident involving running over people, this was a high risk move on his part (even if he was not aware). He could have been shot dead.

"Perhaps the first time in UP history in which left and right agree that the offended party are idiots and the offending party deserves some form of punishment."

Idk if the offended party are idiots. The concept of a "die in" seems really stupid, but protestors protesting is fine with me. The offender, however, demonstrated an attempt to actively avoid hitting anyone. He was just being a douche. There's no real need to offer up any large penalty here.
