"After 1971 he also took amphetamines, despite the concern of his friends, one of whom (Ron Graham) bet him $500 that he could not stop taking the drug for a month.[20] Erdős won the bet, but complained that during his abstinence, mathematics had been set back by a month: "Before, when I looked at a piece of blank paper my mind was filled with ideas. Now all I see is a blank piece of paper." After he won the bet, he promptly resumed his amphetamine use."

LOL :)

Coke is good for math too.

I am willing to be a guanine pig if someone can provide the coke.

NW
He was in his late 50s when he started using amfetamines, so more correctly - amfetamine users have trouble concentrating when not using amfetamine.

What a bomb.

Jergul, this was something funny I came across lurking the web. It is cute that you think my world revolves around your inability to handle LSD and weed.

If it was not clear, DON'T DO METH! Unless you are a crazy genius sort of person.

Well you are correct, I don't know it was meth. I may have used meth as the colloquial street term.

My inability to handle LSD and weed?

Lulz. Project much, bro?

Yes, a person suffering from amphetamine withdrawal would obviously have trouble working until he got his fix. In this case, for a month as he self-reported.

And while stimulant are detrimental to you health, they have a real stimulating effect. Even nicotine does. And some people are just wired differently, they handle physical stress factors much better, there is a genetic component to it.

The same thing applies to caffein of course, once you are dependent, as most people are, not having it will make you tired, difficult to concentrate. Withdrawl is not a month long.

I go weeks at a time without weed, there is no withdrawl to speak of. LSD has little to 0 dependency effect, psychedelics in general are surprisingly gentle.

I took effedrine for 6 months when I was young and stupid as a workout supplement. No withdrawl.

I quite nicotine after years, this was the most difficult withdrawl symptom I have had. Could not sleep properly week for 2 weeks.

I don't like stimulants, it is towards the end of a spectrum that does not align well with me. They are also very detrimental to you heart and health in general.

"Drugs" is a useless term like "abrahamic faith" (lulz), it includes everything from weed to meth.

Do some more drugs and keep telling yourself that, bro.

It will work out for you. I promise.

Quitting weed just requires you to not sleep well for 2-4 weeks, with not-well varying from regular insomnia to what amount to night terrors.

Other than that you probably won't feel any different.

Nicotine withdrawal seems to be a lot more impactful on your body and faculties. Focus is difficult for sure. That said why did I give myself a nicotine habit and with something that's such a pain to get in Canada on top of that.
