http://www...te-health-care-bill/index.html

"The bill is very similar to the version of the House bill that passed last month but with some key changes. The text released Thursday showed the Senate legislation would still make major changes to the nation's health care system, repealing Obamacare's individual mandate, drastically cutting back federal support of Medicaid, eliminating Obamacare's taxes on the wealthy, insurers and others. The Senate plan however would keep Obamacare's subsidies to help people pay for individual coverage."

"Medicaid has been one of the central sticking points in the debate. The bill would continue the enhanced Medicaid expansion funding from Obamacare until 2021 and then phase it out over three years. This is a concession to moderates, who weren't pleased that the House version would end the enhanced support for new enrollees in 2020."

"The Senate bill would also largely maintain Obamacare's premium subsidies structure, but tighten the eligibility criteria starting in 2020. Fewer middle class folks would get help because only those earning up to 350% of the poverty level would qualify, rather than the 400% threshold contained in Obamacare. But it would also open up the subsidies to enrollees below the poverty level so those living in states that didn't expand Medicaid could get some assistance."

"The bill would also aim to shore up the existing Obamacare market by allocating funds for the cost-sharing subsidies until 2019. This will placate insurers, who were distraught by Trump's refusal to commit to continue making these payments, leading many carriers to hike rates or drop out of the exchanges for 2018."

***************************

How are they paying for this if the subsidies still exist and they cut taxes on the wealthy?

Lots of kicking the bucket down the road. The Republican war on the young continues. Higher deficits and lesser available to basic social services for anyone under 40.

Sad that the people under 40 on this board are part of a white male victimhood cult and vote for such stupid shit.

i don't see the House agreeing w/ it if that subsidy info is accurate... getting that changed to age instead of income was a big deal to them

I don't quite understand how this ends up being filibuster proof. It seems to be adjusting quite a bit.

Either way, house members better not be meeting with constituents during recess or this could be a shitshow.

Both the Senate and House Republicans are really concerned about the health of the...........Health Insurance Industry. Not so much the health of the average American citizen.

This isn't even good for the health insurance industry.

Health Insurance industry has made out like bandits under Obamacare. Republicans keep on using the example of insurers leaving states. Guess what. Most if not all of of those states are red states that didn't expand medicaid and decided to stick it to their own citizens because their governors wanted to run for president and show how conservative they were for the primaries.

Then the Republicans in those states whine that Obamacare doesn't work.

Fucking faggots.

"Health Insurance industry has made out like bandits under Obamacare."

Eh. Obamacare came with a much more reserved Medicare pay rate increase. This tightening of pockets most definitely has the healthcare industry as a whole wary.

hood, there is a huge difference between the health care industry and the health insurance industry.
One of them actually performs care to people.
The other just takes a piece of the financial action without actually performing any medical care.
I'll let you figure out which one is which.

I work in this field and health insurance does more than just collect money. Not that they're all good actors (cough aetna, cough), but it's not so simple as "they don't provide medical care."

So what do they perform to enhance your health? Do any of their agents check your BP? Do x-ray's, prescribe medications, wipe your ass if you are incapacitated?
Do they diagnose your ailments?

Please explain how they do any medical procedures.

You know I've been around for a while and had some operations and seen doctors off an on for 73 years. Not once did I go to an insurance agents office for any medical need. I can't even think of why anyone would.

"Please explain how they do any medical procedures."

When did I make any hint of claim that they did? You're supposed to be wise when you're older, not a moron.
