Article continues below: Sponsor Call Us Toll-Free: 855-386-4552 Get up to 30% More Retirement Income Dear Friend: With many bank rates running at 1% or less, many blue-chip stocks offering a measly dividend of 2%, and government bonds returning about the same or less — how will you generate the income you need to live in retirement? That is a question millions and millions of Americans like you and me are asking. Many Americans are choosing to diversify their investments and insurance contracts. That's smart. But one thing you should consider is the protection of an annuity with an income rider that can generate up to 30% more income — for life! You are probably one of many Americans who saved and planned for their retirement. But how could you have imagined that interest rates would fall so low? If you are earning on average 1% at the bank — with inflation at almost 3% and taxes taken out of your income to boot — you are actually losing the real value of your money. Adding to the problem are the gaps in Medicare that have caused the average couple to amass $220,000i in extra medical costs during retirement. Perhaps the biggest challenge facing retirees is the very fact that so many seniors are living longer than they ever expected. For example . . . while the average life expectancy for someone entering retirement is currently 84 years of age (as opposed to 81 years of age as many assume), keep in mind that this age is just an average. Over half will live beyond that — some living into their 90s and others even into their 100s. While living longer is great news, it is also causing thousands to adjust for this unplanned longevity — stretching out their retirement money for an extra 10, 15, and 20 years.ii In order to come up with the extra money, many retirees are making risky choices. Many choose to put their hard-earned money at risk in the stock market when they can least afford to do so — just as it reaches its all-time highs. And remember, over the long term the market simply has not demonstrated the type of returns you need to retire. For example, beginning in 2001 the S&P 500 was 1,320 and at the beginning of 2013 it was 1,426, which means over this 12-year period the S&P rose by an average of less than 1% per year.”iii Unfortunately, this difficult financial period we are living through may cause many seniors to live out their biggest fear — they WILL run out of money.iv Here at Crown Atlantic, an insurance agency fully licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, our mission has been to offer sound choices for those seeking to maximize their income during their retirement years. We believe we have found a better way to provide protection in retirement. We offer a contract that protects your principal, guarantees you income for life*, and simultaneously avoids the gamble of putting your money earmarked for retirement at risk in the stock market. No, you will not have to do a reverse mortgage or downsize your living standards. You see, a new generation of annuity contracts could help you guarantee your income for the rest of your life, while at the same time allow you to see some benefit from a rising stock market. Many of these annuity contracts can be offered with income riders that provide a guaranteed roll-up rate, so when you are ready to receive income during or at the end of the roll-up period, they will provide you with a guaranteed income stream that you cannot outlive. These contracts are gaining major traction right now. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reported that a record-breaking $33.9 billion went into these special contracts.v These contracts are called "fixed indexed annuities." These insurance company contracts allow your money to accumulate savings tax deferred, and allow you to add stability to your finances by crediting additional interest when a market index, like the S&P 500, is successful.** In addition, your principal (and interest earned in previous years) is protected from losses when the market doesn't do well. There's a rich history of annuity contracts being used to help people generate a guaranteed income stream. Annuities date back to ancient Rome, and even played a role in American history when our founding fathers used annuity contracts to help establish lifetime income for our country's soldiers. Learn more about this valuable contract used by a wide range of people from Ben Franklin to Ben Stein and understand why they put their money in annuities. Discover how you can put the power of annuity contracts to work for you. Crown Atlantic can help you find retirement solutions that guarantee and protect your income and minimize your market risk. Annuities are long-term insurance contracts designed for retirement. As a result there may be fees or penalties for early withdrawals, including surrender charges, and if taken prior to age 59 1/2, withdrawals may be subject to a 10% federal additional tax. *Annuity guarantees are backed by the financial strength and claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company; they are not insured by the FDIC. **A fixed indexed annuity is not a registered security or stock market investment and does not directly participate in any stock or equity investments, or index. The applicable index is a factor that in part determines the interest to be credited. "No sanctuary cities," the retired pediatric neurosurgeon told a crowd during a Politics & Eggs campaign event Tuesday at the Village Inn in Bedford, New Hampshire, The Daily Signal reports. "I think that’s ridiculous. "You have to turn off the spigot that dispenses the goodies," he said, referring to government handouts to illegals. "If there’s nothing for them to come here for, they’re not going to risk coming in here." The topic of sanctuary cities has been in the forefront since Monday’s arrest of Francisco Sanchez, an illegal immigrant who has seven felony convictions and has been deported five times but repeatedly returned to the U.S., according to The Guardian. Sanchez, 45, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 32-year-old Kate Steinle as she walked along San Francisco’s Pier 14 with her father. ABC News reported that Sanchez has served federal prison time and was on probation in Texas at the time of the shooting. He told a local ABC affiliate that he kept sneaking back into the U.S. from his native Mexico to look for work and that he knew San Francisco was a sanctuary city. In March, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) turned Sanchez, a repeat drug offender, over to San Francisco authorities and requested that ICE be notified prior to Sanchez’s release so they could take custody. The San Francisco Sheriff’s Department dropped the drug charges against Sanchez and let him go without alerting immigration officials. Real estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate Trump ignited a firestorm of controversy during his June 16 announcement when he characterized Mexicans who come to the U.S. illegally as rapists, drug-runners and criminals. Despite the backlash — several corporations have cut ties with him — Trump is not backing down. In New Hampshire on Tuesday, Carson said Trump’s delivery "is perhaps a little inflammatory," but the message is spot on. Carson said he too has been known to be incendiary, but has worked on dialing it down. "I learned that a few months ago, to tone down the rhetoric," he said. "That’s why you haven’t heard me do that much lately because I want people to hear what I’m saying." Trump speaks the truth, Carson told reporters covering the New Hampshire event, and his brash style is his trademark, The Boston Herald reported. "He is who he is," said Carson. "Could you imagine a Donald Trump who’s, like, nice, mild-mannered and says everything in a very peaceful — it wouldn’t be Donald Trump." Member | Fri Jul 10 13:47:43 The issue here is that people are only viewing this from one side. "Sanctuary cities" actually started as a way for illegals to report crime. You come forward and report a crime or testify and we promise not to deport you. Maybe somebody can dig up some stats on the effect this has had on crime or solving crime. I'm not saying it's absolutely right, but there is a perspective we should keep here. It's not the municipality's job/role to enforce the border. It's the federal government's. |

They have to deal with the realities on the ground in their own jurisdictions, and that means dealing with all these new residents. They may be illegal, but they are working in these areas anyway, they have kids, and life goes on. The States and Cities could either pretend its not going on, or figure out ways to tax the working income and find a way to pay for their American Citizen kids to get their mandatory public education. The immigration issue is no less complicated then it was in the 19th century, and honestly no less stupid. We could be like Europe, and try and alienate these populations, or we could do like we have always done, integrate, co-opt, and absorb. Its not so long ago that Irish were our modern day Mexicans after all. |

Member | Sat Jul 11 00:09:40 Ben Carson is a brain surgeon. His Doctorate is in the field of Medical Sciences, not the Social Science. I don't make an appeal to authority from a medical doctor for in depth info on the mineral composition of the Alpha Centauri system. That is for an Astro-Geologist. Don't appeal to authority for governing policy from a medical doctor either. Just because they have a degree does not mean they know shit about the subject. |

It's a good thing I wasn't in class that day, I'd probably have gotten in serious trouble for the insults to his intelligence I'd have made. |

Member | Sun Jul 12 09:57:39 "It's not brain surgery." No truer words can be said. He out maneuvered the spud heads. I'm sure Carson is intelligent enough to have excellent council in the field of political underpinnings. Whether he is appealing enough to become President is another question altogether. I don't doubt that he has done a lot of community service, which is about all our current President had going for him. I'm sure it isn't that you consider him unqualified because of his ideology (an orientation that characterizes the thinking of a group or nation) more than qualifications. I'm of the opinion that he would be a better role model for Black Americans. That reason alone is quite enticing as a candidate. I don't think anyone is qualified to step into the highest office of this land or any other for that matter. One more thing. You totally misunderstood what I had said in the other thread about retuning to our mission statement. So much so I refuse additional discussion on the subject. |
