Revved Up | Tue Jan 20 20:52:19 The Fence There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily, gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said “you have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.” You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound is still there. Make sure you control your temper the next time you are tempted to say something you will regret later. ~ Author Unknown |

TJ
Member | Fri Jan 23 20:06:42 Not really, I have four different helmets and that one was the newest. I only use it for the trike because it is setup so we can communicate. When she isn't with me I'm always on the Harley. The trike was a compromise between us because of realizing my limitations. She likes to ride, but makes sudden moves without announcing, which makes it rather difficult riding on two wheels. When I was younger it wasn't that much of a problem. |

Member | Sat Jan 24 10:14:07 Oh, I didn't take either of the last two pictures I posted. My wife has most of our pictures stored away in no specific order known to mankind and I have no time to sort through her disarrayed system. The ones I do have ready access are snapshots of us that she wouldn't take kindly of me posting. It's a thing about keeping a woman happy and life is good. Maybe I'll make a brave move and post one of myself on that particular trip. |

Back to the destruction, little remains to tear out. It has been good day. I sold the vanity that had been in that bathroom for nearly 50 years. It was 80 bucks I almost gave away to a junk man. Rushmore would fit inside just Crazy Horse's head." "Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse are both carved from the Harney Peak granite, which is named for the highest point east of the Rocky Mountains at 7,242 feet. The granite of the Harney Peak batholith was emplaced around 1.7 billion years ago at a depth of 3 to 6 miles, says Mark Fahrenbach, a geologist with the South Dakota Geological Survey. Some of the granite cooled quickly, forming finer mineral grains, and some cooled more slowly forming coarse-grained pegmatite. Both carvings exhibit a mixture of each rock texture." I doubt anyone will ever see its completion. Pictures don't do it justice considering its massiveness. |
