I thought this was your statement about how 11-year-olds rock.

Any adults online that appreciate good music?

There is a tremendous amount of very young talent in the world. The numbers make it less spectacular for me and somewhat reduces the truly awesomeness. I still find it amazing these children remain so dedicated in order to reach such a high level of performance.

TJ, No doubt.

I was in a music store in Honolulu once and I saw this kid about 9 years old leafing through the classical music. I thought to myself what a pretentious little shit.

He picked one and sat down at the piano and started playing like Van Cliburn.

Ah yes. The other fool heard from.

Why don't you go back to sucking your mothers teat. This thread is for adults.

Have we become so obvious when making jokes here? I remember a time when someone would at least allude to preferring more mature rocks rather than newer ones before the eventual descent into a flame war circa post 35.

These guys just don't appreciate talent. They would rather throw around their little 12 year old barbs so the can prove to themselves they are macho and a wit.

Well, they are half right.

The kid is really fantastic with the steel guitar.

And like almost all of the other people who have learned how to play a song, he won't be able to create a single piece of original music himself.

While learning to play songs is impressive, call me when this kid is creating his own music that pleases the ears. Maybe then I'll be impressed.

Great job for an 11 year old who only started 2 years ago.

Hood, there are many virtuoso musicians that never wrote any of their own music. What pleases your ear may be totally different from what pleases others and visa-versa.

Who would you rather hear sing Crazy. Patsy Cline or Willie Nelson.

My point wasn't taste. I was simply stating that the ability to play an instrument these days is saturated with people. Just look at YouTube. However, if you can't create your own music, you aren't worth my time.

Mimicry is great. But you have to be able to expand. Weird Al doesn't just cover songs by making the exact same song. He adds his own, goofy touch.

If this kid can be more than a mimic, I'll judge him as such. Otherwise he's just like any other person on YouTube with a cover video.

I agree with Hood. I'll be much more impressed when/if he kicks ass with his own original composition.

Baby steps, motherfuckers. Mozart didn't write any concertos when he was 9.

Which is why it's ridiculous to care about these little brats. Let him spend the next thirty years developing his craft, then we can marvel at the 40 year old who produces his own masterpieces.

"Mozart didn't write any concertos when he was 9."

No concerto's that I can see, but he started composing at five and had a sizable collection of his own creations by the time he was seven.

Hood never listens to Mozart or Brahms. After all the people playing their music didn't write their music and unfortunately the recording devices that would allow him to listen to these composers play their own music weren't invented then.

Classical music is exactly the same as the modern rock/pop/whatever band.

See, I can say equally ridiculous statements. The difference is that I'm being sarcastic and you're being a retard.

You are the retard by making the statement that you only listen to original artists who write their own music. Therefore you don't listen to classical music.

I didn't say that. I said I was unimpressed by youtube cover people. This is what this kid amounts to. He is like any other person who has practiced enough to master a song and post their cover on youtube. You'll notice that none of those people go anywhere.

Seriously. The shit retards pull out of their ass and pretend you've said...
