iChihuaha | Thu Sep 13 15:15:26 Apparently iPad market shares grew from 62% to 68% this year, even though this past year has seen the release of an infinite number of tablets. What is worse is that iPads stand for 91% of tablet web traffic. lol |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:23:03 iBike is better. Pedaling is free, braking is free. Air for the wheels is $5, needs iPump with iHose incompatible with any other bikes. There is a back seat, but you can't give a ride to anyone because it's against the license agreement. iBike rides fast but pedaling is hard and you are out of juice in half a day. New iBike costs like three new non-apple bikes, but for a logo of a bitten apple and a stylish white look people are willing to sell their kidneys. Apple will sue all other bike developers because their bikes also have round wheels. |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:26:57 Man, I can't wait for the iBike 2. I heard that it's going to come out in BLACK! I'm going to buy it immediately, even though my current iBike is working perfectly fine. |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:30:32 I have yet to figure out how Apple has convinced its users that it must buy its latest product, even though their previous version functions almost exactly the same way. Most normal people use technology devices until they are no longer useful or are underpowered. Not Apple people. Maybe the problem is people who buy apple products are so sad they can't have something new when they see their friends buying new products, and their choice is limited to the latest thing that Apple puts out. I'm guessing if there were 10 companies releasing phones with the IOS, there wouldn't be this craze to buy the latest one. |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:37:00 I think Apple advertising borrows from the `coolest club in town' idea. Make it attainable, but only with significant sacrifice so that you feel a need to be loyal. Combine exclusivity with inclusiveness. Also remove options and decisions beyond trivialities because those only confuse people. Basically I plan to open a store in NYC that serves only grilled cheese and nondescribed `beer'. Mostly regardless of the quality/price of these items, the place will be a hit. |

iChihuaha | Thu Sep 13 15:48:24 >>Maybe the problem is people who buy apple products are so sad they can't have something new when they see their friends buying new products<< Because we NEVER see people excited about Android phones, Xbox and PS3? What a retarded argument. |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:52:39 We are just trying to understand phenomena. Why for example are you so vehemently defensive of these people? Why do I feel the need to attack you for it? What are these strange emotions that are created over otherwise uninspiring hunks of plastic and silicon? |

Member | Thu Sep 13 15:56:08 "Because we NEVER see people excited about Android phones, Xbox and PS3? What a retarded argument." Xbox 360 came out seven years ago and is probably cheaper than several of Apple's products, so it's a lot less ridiculous to buy the latest gaming system. That said, I'd agree that it's ridiculous to buy the latest incarnation of CoD or BF every twelve months, but even that's less cost-intensive than buying a fucking new iPhone every year. |

iChihuaha | Thu Sep 13 16:29:27 >>We are just trying to understand phenomena.<< lol, OK. >>Why for example are you so vehemently defensive of these people?<< The phenomena is not exclusive to Apple, that is the point. >>Why do I feel the need to attack you for it?<< Probably for the same reason you think I am "defensive" of Apple fanboys, because you are retarded. >>What are these strange emotions that are created over otherwise uninspiring hunks of plastic and silicon?<< I believe the kids call it "epeen". |

iChihuaha | Thu Sep 13 16:33:54 >>Xbox 360 came out seven years ago and is probably cheaper than several of Apple's products,<< Yes true, a better example is the enthusiast PC market, graphic cards, CPU's. Though this is a smaller group, but the cost are also substantially higher. I am reminded however that Phones are different, because they are subsidized by carriers, for instance many time you are not paying a dime extra for the new iPhone/Android phone when you renew your contract. There the cost for the consumer is very little and we can get excited about the new phone and buy it in a frenzy. Of course carriers recover their cost over time through fees, but this a cost over time for the consumer and not as painful as a clump sum. |

Member | Fri Sep 14 00:19:12 Paramount Nim has been asked several times to end his spamming. He will not quit so we have to move on to the next level of trying to deal with it. I put his posts back but he knows now if he spams one thread his history as a habitual spammer will cause all his posts created in the last 24 hours to be deleted. He has been told this so when it happens again he has nobody but himself to blame. If it fucks up a perfectly good thread it is by his actions that it happened. |

Member | Fri Sep 14 01:31:45 Personally I've been working with computers long enough, fixing them and making them do things they aren't supposed to that I see laptops and tablet computers and the like as sophisticated machines made to do certain tasks and I don't understand at all how Apple has made their (for the value = inferior) product so popular amongst just the right slice of society that people see them as status symbols or the status quo for being "hip". They are not handbags or shoes or some other accessory, they are MACHINES so why in the world do people see them as being cool accessories to their lifestyle?? |

GTFO HOer | Fri Sep 14 01:38:46 Eh, kind of expect iPads to do better than Android tablets. What kinds of persons are interested in tablets, for the most part? |

iChihuaha | Fri Sep 14 01:46:30 What kind of people? Very different kinds of people. |

Member | Fri Sep 14 11:41:30 All I know is my iMac is the fucking bomb and the little things like multiple windows open at once and fluid movements between programs with merely swiping fingers across the mouse is incredibly helpful and badass. With that said, while I do like Apple products (and own an iPad and an iPhone4 as well), I will only buy the next version of what they put out if it is a SIGNIFICANT change from what I have. I'll probably be getting the iphone 8 or something at this rate of little incremental improvements. |
