Hot Rod Member	Sat Feb 04 09:35:19 all of the news about feeding the kids healthy lunches in school and denying candy on certain holidays and taking away Christmas celebrations, and no valentines to their friend and not allowing kids to dress up for Halloween, etc., etc., etc.... what do you think? 1) Do you believe it is really for their own good? 2) Do you believe it is to condition them to follow the government dictates when they get older? 3) Do you think there is some other reason? I think #2, what do you think?

Parents are automatically superior to everyone, even other parents, and should have absolute control over their kids in every way, even if it means feeding them pig lard by the bucket, or not at all. But at the same time, the parents can't be blamed for anything their kid ever does wrong... wait, what am I saying? Their kids can't do wrong. You don't want to celebrate the holiday, fine, but don't ruin it for the rest of the kids that do. It isnt about your "equal rights". It's about you being a selfish asshole. On the flip side, there is nothing wrong with the sewer that is the public school lunch being made healthier. For some of these kids, it's the only shot at a decent meal for the day, so MAKE it a decent meal. I also agree with Billah that recess needs to be brought back. Let the kids run around and exercise and not force them to sit on their asses because you're too lazy/misguided to actually watch the damn kids.

Some schools have also deleted PE the one hour of physical activity most of the non criminal element ever got.
