Mine: You prevent dehydration with water and carrots. And you can indeed treat minor dehydration with water and carrots. Short of dehydration, at the "I'm a bit thirsty" level, you can drink water and then continue about your normal day (which includes eating) and be fine. |

The new mixture will provide all the medical benefits of the original mixture. As an added plus, you won't have flecks of carrots clogging up the bottle's nozzle as often. Plan to put a bunch of weight on your back and walk long distances uphill? Eat a slightly larger breakfast than normal consisting of food that stays down well, and drink shit tons of water. |

I was once in Colorado at 12,500 feet and I chased a herd of bighorn sheep maybe a quarter mile and then I realized I was descending down the opposite side of the ridge I'd climbed and that I'd have to climb all the way back and over. I ended up getting a headache pretty quick and had to sit on a rock for a few minutes. I like how sound is so deadened at higher altitude you can yell and its like it doesn't go anywhere. |

Member | Sun Nov 20 16:32:23 pacing yourself at 19,000 still leaves you out of breath :P Short water breaks are also not a good idea. You want to stay in a steady rhythm for hours if possible. Also on some peaks its not safe to stop unless you are in certain spots, so then your break-schedule is forced. |
