Pretty great game, got it on xbox 360. Graphics are infinitely better than Oblivion. They took the best parts of Oblivion and fallout and melded them together and made an awesome game. I have barely scratched the surface of the game but it looks like all the dungeons/mines have their own unique design and layout as opposed to Oblivion which had the bulk of cave interior look very interchangeable.

Killing dragons is fun and intense. Inclusion of giants is awesome, as are the mammoths and sabre tooth tigers. Spells are also cool and more customizable. For example, the new zombie spell allows you to bring back to life a dead creature who will fight for you for X amount of time. This is in contrast to Oblivion's zombie spell which spawned a literal zombie from the ground.

All in all, game is worth the $60+tax.

Next on my list in MW3 and then Bioshock Infinite.

nah, since youre spamming 2-3 other posters threads with this, its much fairer to keep your spamming to your thread.

Meantime, maximumrectum, do you gurgle when JB fills you up or do you swallow straight away?

Difference between you and I: I am asking valid questions which actually demolish your credibility as a poster while you are just asking a spam question intent on shielding yourself from the painful reality that you are one of the more mistrusted posters on this forum.

No, difference between you and I: I am challenging you to a valid challenge which will confirm your already utterly destroyed credibility as one of the most laughed at an rejected retards. I already explained that Im happy to answer once you accept the challenge. Ill make it much easier for you, since you will never dare to accept the challenge to disprove you are a liar; answer this question:

maximumrectum, do you gurgle when JB fills you up or do you swallow straight away?

Nice.

I got MW3 for my bday. Single player was fun but disappointingly short (~5 hours on Regular difficulty without sprint through). I caved and finally got Xbox live and the multiplayer has been fun. (People still played single player video games lulz?)

My list (with no clue on actual drop dates, except that ME3 has been delayed):
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Mass Effect 3
Battlefield 3
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Skyrim (I'm buying into the hype here, I never played Oblivion. Are these meant to be sequential storylines?)
Half Life II Episode 3

As someone who's never played any of the games in the franchise...does it have multiplayer?

No multiplayer for these games.

I might buy this when I have some more free time. I've never been big on buying single player games on release just because you can wait and get the exact same product for cheaper, but if u wait on a multiplayer game other gamers move on.

I was really really disappointed in oblivion. I hope this is a lot more closer to morrowind than oblivion. They just need to keep the fighting of oblivion but the content of morrowind.

"Oblivion which had the bulk of cave interior look very interchangeable."

Like that raised platform in the corner of every room with a handful of stalagmites, light coming out of a hole in the ceiling and usually a chest/barrel/crate. Amazing how nature created that exact same feature 10,000 times.

So is it worth buying?

I'd say so. Though I made the mistake of mastering smithing and enchanting. Now my character is virtually indestructible and destroys all. It kinda takes the fun out of things tbh. Though they say you can raise the difficulty of combat. I think I'll do that, tell you how it works out.

Not sure that is the ideal tactic. Seems to me some thought has been put into balance, though you do specialize of course. But not that way. Look at the perks you gain at being good with armor or a sword for example.

Could be you found a loophole, but I doubt it. They have put thought into this.

I played as an orc and maxed my smithing and enchanting easily.

I got the full daedric set and max enchant lets you put 2 enchants on one item.

full daedric set + 40% magic resist and 40% frost/fire/shock reists = not dying anytime soon.

I beat the game in about 3 days and did about half of the quests.

It got kind of dull to me. Melee combat is still not as good as magic combat.

The main thing that sucks about smithing is that the dragon armor takes 100 smithing to create, but it's weaker than the daedric set which only takes 90.

The funny thing is you can raise some of your skills by doing ordinary things over and over.

With illusion you just dual cast courage on an npc until you're maxed.

Lockpicking? Just get a lot of lockpicks, find a master lock, and just keep breaking the picks.

"The main thing that sucks about smithing is that the dragon armor takes 100 smithing to create, but it's weaker than the daedric set which only takes 90."

Yeah, I noticed that after the fact. Was kinda pissed I used up one of my skill slots to learn Dragon.

I can't just rush through games like this. Where some might actually read the books and shit you find, I go trailblazing and shit. The music is badass also.

>>@kilo - Sounds like WoW.<<

Actually not. WoW has diminishing return all the way down to zero. It does however work the other way around. Fishing in a low level area will only increase fishing skill up to a certain point, but fishing with low skill level in a high level area (even max) will generate skill, even though you wont catch anything, or you will catch junk.

Like PPS I can't rush through games like fallout/oblivion. I don't necessarily play to experience the main storyline but rather to fully experience the entire world the programmers have made.

I do agree that melee combat is tame compared to mage combat, which is why I selected a Breton as my starting race.

Sounds boring. Crafting is usually pretty lame, but in a single-player game it is exceptionally so.

"I don't necessarily play to experience the main storyline but rather to fully experience the entire world the programmers have made."

- Exactly.

"I do agree that melee combat is tame compared to mage combat, which is why I selected a Breton as my starting race."

- Same here. I actually restarted and went mage/Breton because melee was fairly weak.

Rushing the game in 3 days must be kinda boring. And "cheating" to maximize your perks is no fun, imo. I like to experience the whole atmosphere of the game.

My character kinda sucks though. Or maybe it is me, because I can't kill a Frost Troll. I'm level 13 and playing as a Nord Warrior. Light Armor, one-handed sword and a shield, and a bow with arrows. The Frost Troll is ripping me apart with a few hits. Although, in the Bestiary of Skyrim it says: "Trolls are among the most feared of Skyrim's predators". So maybe they are really good, and not me who sucks.

I tried to set up an ambush for it, on higher ground. I was hidden (sneaking) and fired arrows at him, but the troll spotted me as soon as the second or third arrow hit him, and he runs rather fast. I also thought that I would be safe on top of the rocks, but the troll climbed them as a freaking cat. So I had to start running lol.

I probably need to stock up on Healing potions and get me a follower for backup, then I will kill this troll.

"Light Armor, one-handed sword and a shield, and a bow with arrows."

>> you mean like "standard class" warrior for beginners, like in every other game? lol

Just you wait. When you hit half way through the game, youre never gonna finish this POS due to the bugs and glitches. Just you wait.

Why go light armour over heavy armour with a warrior?

cos like all rpg beginners, he wanted to be versatile having bow and arrow while wielding single handed sword but than he figured he needed something for his second hand, so he grabbed a shield.

And he has no money for better equipment.

lol, I wanted a challenge. I want to be like Aragorn. An agile swordsman, hunter, and not a fat slow iron fortress with a two handed axe.

*a fat slow iron fortress with a two handed axe.

... who can kill a troll with a single hit. Because how fun is that? That's right. Not at all fun.

I can beat this game with leather armor, a sword and a shield. I'll just sword everyone to death, and put an arrow in them.

(I obviously need lots of healing potions too)

So, became a Vampire for a bit. Shit is gay as hell. There no benefit to it at all when weighed against the draw backs. And having to find a sleeping person to feed on every 3 days is so god damn annoying. This is something that seriously needs to be modded.

I've got skyrim on the way but I still enjoy playing Oblivion now. My latest charactor if I want to I can get into an oblivion gate and without invisability or other spells/potions get to the stone and collapse the gate without killing any of the creatures. Can only do it in certain layouts but still kind of fun to try once in a while. I tend to screw around a lot playing oblivion. Things like try and jump over deer that are running from me, or see how many creatures I can get to chase me to the city gates so I can watch all the NPCs battle the creatures. Eventually I get around to the quests but can have plenty of fun doing other shit.

I downloaded it earlier today. You get to the first freakin' town and are loaded up with half a dozen quests almost immediately.

It's awesome.

I'm doing the "In My Time Of Need" Quest now.

Not sure if I should side with Saadia or Kematu.

"Not sure if I should side with Saadia or Kematu."

Saadia gives a little bit more money.

The final boss fight was lame as fuck.

Popper berserker rage, killed Alduin in 5 seconds.

I turned the game back in.

Skyrim Time Lapse shows a living world. Beautiful video:

Some freak made this video ^

You haven't seen Skyrim until you've seen Wren the Reaper's time lapse video. The YouTube poster spent more than 40 hours compiling 80GB worth of files that explore the living beauty of The Elder Scrolls V's game world. Set to composer Jeremy Soule's score, Wren's Skyrim time lapse reminds us how special Bethesda's RPG is. See the video for yourself below:
