Some of these Lego projects are really stunning. Worth a look if you have some extra time.

Thanks, I thought it was cool.

Some of those people are really dedicated to their hobby. :)

I used to love legos when I was a child. Never built them the way your were suppose to though, I always used the parts of several kits to build something different, pirate ship or a spaceship, depended on what movie had inspired me recently :D

How young are you people? The franchise lego stuff did not arrive before I was up and throwing stones at the visiting Iron Lady

jergul, you are giving away your age.

"The Lego Group began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark, who began making wooden toys in 1932. In 1934 his company came to be called Lego. It expanded to producing plastic toys in 1940. In 1949 Lego began producing the now famous interlocking bricks, calling them "Automatic Binding Bricks". These bricks were based largely on the patent[1] of Kiddicraft Self-Locking Bricks, which were released in the United Kingdom in 1947."

Franchise Lego stuff came in the late 80s. I thought it was an open fact that you were the middle aged-guy on the board situated uncomfortably between the senior citizen UPers and everyone else.

Sorry, guess you were talking about this, "'Fabuland' ran from 1979 to 1989. The more advanced 'Lego Technic' was launched in 1984."

I was the same. The whole point of lego is being able to make so many different things so I don't see the point in spending E20 on even a very basic model just to have it sit on the shelf.

I didn't play with Legos much. Had a lot of fun with Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and Erector sets though.
