I noticed I was usually in the forums the same time as whoever was filling the forums with threads with nothing but spam. I sent Turtle Crawler a message letting him know I was usually on when other mods were not and asked him what needed to happen for me to become a mod. He told me to send the then current mods a personal message and if all of them agreed I could be a mod. Then all the spamming slowed way down and even though I had been approved by the other mods it wasn't high priority that I become one. Then this latest blast of spam came through and one way or another turtle Crawler was reminded that I had gone through that proccess to be a mod. So really this isn't something that is in response to the newest threads about needing a new mod. It had been in the works long before. As it turns out, in a bit of irony the first (and so far only) thread I deleted was one where the same idiot using multiple accounts was insulting Charper. As much fun as I have insulting Charper at least it happens in the context of the existing topic at hand, and since that thread was just the one idiot spamming I thumped the thread. I've also deleted some individual messages that were just random letters running across the screen to irritate people. Anyway me becoming a mod has nothing to do with the current vote other than it jogged some memories.

I said because of their ambigious definition of torture the US could legally claim waterboarding was not torture.
