Member | Tue Mar 09 13:36:48 Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic are all introducing their 3-D tv sets between now and June, with packages that include a 3D blu-ray player and 3D glasses. Projected cost - $2,000 - $3000 for a 46 inch flat panel. Only downside is that currently the only movies planned on being released in 3D anytime soon are Monsters vs Aliens and the Shrek movies. Of course, Avatar and others when they get released will be 3D, but $3000 for something that you cant use seems a little pricy. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 13:39:41 Yeah, I was just discussing this. I am moving soon, we are buying an apartment in kiev, and I was thinking about buying one of these 3D TVs. Not many movies yet, true, but like with HDTV, it shouldn't take too long. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 13:43:00 I might wait a year and see if the price doesnt drop. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 13:44:18 I believe it would be wise to wait. |

The Bloody Scourge | Tue Mar 09 13:55:30 I'm assuming they'll still play regular movies? |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:39:32 Some of the TVs have tech that is supposed to be able to turn 2D stuff into 3D. Not sure how well it works. Anyways, I wouldn't buy into the 3D craze yet. You're blowing your money at this point... |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:42:40 Anytime you spend money on a TV, you are blowing your money. If you budget for it, then its your choice and there is nothing with buying a brand new technology. As long as you spend disposable cash. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:46:07 Thats right. PS3 is 3D compatible. Xbots are officially proven suckers. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:51:16 I own a PS3. It feels good. But I'm thinking about to sell my current PS3 and buy the new slim model instead. I think I will feel even better then. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:52:37 I love my fattie. Just got FF13 today. Best played on PS3, home of the FF franchise, the vastly superior version. God of War 3 in a week. Game of the fking year this one. When Heavy Rain drops down to 30 bucks, Im picking that one up. And White Knight too. PS3, home of the best games. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:56:22 "PS3 is 3D compatible. " Errr... source? They expect to add 3D to the PS3 at some future point but it is not available on the PS3 yet. Also, some companies are saying that their TVs will require HDMI 1.4 for blu-ray 3D which the PS3s on the market can not support. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 14:57:46 Do you know what compatible means, you dumbass? The software update is coming soon. I read about this just 2 days ago. We are not talking about the shiatbox360 here. PS3 does everything. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 15:07:20 The PS3 will be compatible after a couple of firmware updates. After the updates though some of the older games may not look as good as they do now. Eye candy being all that you are concerned with isn't that going to bother you that your old games will suffer some? Maybe they will find a fix, but Sony counts on game sales instead of console sales to generate profit so don't bet on much help in that area. I use mine mostly for movies anyway and play games on my PC so good news for me I suppose if I decide to jump on the 3d bandwagon. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 15:20:30 PS3, it only does everything. http://www.n4g.com/ps3/NewsCom-488744.aspx?CT=2 You got owned, sucker. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 15:28:34 "The software update is coming soon" A) not till june. B) PS3 is only able to upgrade firmware, not hardware on models already out there. Without HDMI 1.4, You'll only get 1080i to each eye, not 1080p. Ouch. http://www...k-3d-blu-ray-without-hdmi-1-4/ |

Member | Tue Mar 09 15:29:28 I like the comical parody you are doing of those 12 year old kids who argue in the playground about whose video game is better. Entertaining but getting a bit old. |

New Member | Tue Mar 09 16:27:48 This will never take off mark my words. The eye ware is enough to make it crap. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 16:30:57 The technology exists to make a TV that can produce 3D images without glasses. Problem is the bandwidth it would require would be ridiculous. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 16:51:18 I recall when i was younger there was this channel that would send 3d nature program once a week, and you needed the 3d glasses, it never was something i looked forward too. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 16:52:26 3-D fisting movies FTW. |

Member | Tue Mar 09 18:45:49 There's a huge difference between the new 3d t.v.'s and the old red-blue sunglasses. The new shit is like IMAX, with color perception being preserved. |
Freddy
Member | Tue Mar 09 18:52:14 "The new shit is like IMAX" Right. You gonna put a fucking IMAX in your living room. ROFL Fucking retard. |
