Steven quit as far as I can tell," guitarist Joe Perry told the Las Vegas Sun. "I don't know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band."

Aerosmith's representatives could not be reached for comment. However, Tyler reportedly told Classic Rock magazine, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself - Brand Tyler."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have apparently been squabbling since the summer when they had to cancel the rest of their tour after Tyler fell off a stage while performing in South Dakota. The band is on hiatus, with Perry kicking off his solo tour tonight at the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza to support his "Have Guitar, Will Travel" album.

Last night, the Joe Perry Project performed at New Yorkâ??s Irving Plaza. And, lo and behold, who should join the band onstage butâ?¦ Steven Tyler! And he had an announcement to make: â??New York,â?? he said, â??I want you to know I am not leaving Aerosmith. Joe Perry, you are a man of many colors, but I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!â?? Then, he and Perry performed â??Walk This Way.â?? The sound is a little crunchy on the video (in two parts) below, but it sure appears that Tyler, who was injured onstage back in August, is good as new. Halfway through the song, he unbuttoned his flannel shirt â?? and that is when you know Steve Tyler means business. Before he left the stage, he promised fans, â??Iâ??ll see you real soon!â??

Tyler: "I Am Not Leaving Aerosmith"
11th November 2009

Steven Tyler has finally revealed spoken about the rumours concerning his impending departure from Aerosmith.

Blabbermouth reports that Tyler joined his bandmate Joe Perry onstage last night at one of the guitaristâ??s solo shows to play a rendition of â??Walk This Way,â?? and confirming to the audience â??Iâ??m not leaving Aerosmith.â??

The news comes after an extraordinary week during which it seemed that none of the band were actually talking to each other about what was going on, with Tyler first revealing that during 2010 he would be working on â??Brand Tylerâ??, which was then put to Joe Perry who said that he wanted the band to continue anyway. Perry was then quoted as saying that "Steven quit as far as I can tell." Then Joey Kramer revealed that he thought that the â??quitâ?? story was misquoted, but wouldnâ??t confirm or deny that that Tyler had left. But now the saga has taken another twist and it seems that all is actually well in the world of Aerosmith.

If there are any more twists in this one then weâ??ll let you know.

The Kinks have started working on their first new album since 1993â??s Phobia.

Speaking to Billboard.com, the bandâ??s principle songwriter Ray Davies reveals that his recent reworking of Kinks classics for The Kinks Choral Collection has inspired him to start writing for the band once again and he has been in the studio with some of his old bandmates.

"I've been in the studio with a couple of the Kinks, actually," Davies tells Billboard.com -- specifically original drummer Mick Avory and later members Jim Rodford on bass and Ian Gibbons on keyboards. "We've got four, five new songs...and I'm just sort of getting them motivated and seeing what they're playing like, because I haven't played with the Kinks for eight or nine years."

However, it has not been decided whether Daviesâ?? brother Dave will be a part of any reunion.

"We'll see how he reacts to it," Davies says. "If he's physically able to do it is another matter, because he was quite seriously ill (following a stroke in 2004). But we're in communication, and we're not disregarding it yet."

Work on the new Kinks material has been currently been put on hold, though, while Davies tours his Kinks Choral Collection in the US.
