The reason people have a problem with Obama as the salesman for the olympics isn't because it is an inapproprate role for the president, but because the city was Chicago. Had it either been a city that was not Obama's home town or with a reputation for an extreme level of corruption then this wouldn't have been an issue. The appearance is that this was Obama trying to help his buddys make some money as payment for helping get him to where he is at. Right or wrong, that is the way it looks.
