ABBA was the single biggest "industry" in Sweden in the 70s.

They have all the money they need. Why should they do anything that they don't like anymore?

Classy move by ABBA. How much money do you really need? They all are millionaires many times over. Reunions always end up badly, you just trash the good memories. This all means they are reasonable, sane people, able to overcome greed and fame hunger.

Actually, as I am reading about it, one of them wanted a reunion (the dark haired chick). The other three didn't. So there.

"The lunatic even managed to blame abbas non reunion on socialism."

please, thats nothing for Rod. Anybody remembers how he attacked those gossip magazines that you buy at supermarkets, as a part of "liberal media" because one of them put a less-than-flattering picture of Sarah Palin on its cover?

A ABBA reunion could not possibly generate $1b in revenue.

Yeah, and they might trash/destroy the brand "ABBA".

One should always quit when at the top, and then never return.

I think it's only one of them who lives in Sweden. The blonde, Agneta Faltskog. I think the brunette girl lives in Italy or Spain (?). The guys lives in London, I think.

Although, they all probably have houses in Sweden. But they surely don't get any welfare from the State.

Actually, I don't know for 100% where they all live, except for Agneta Faltskog. She lives and pay taxes in Sweden.

Poor old HR doesnt understand things in the real world. Actually, we have PAID enormous sums INTO the welfare system, and you'll read me being proud to do so in many interviews. Sorry if reality is the EXACT opposite of your claims, but you should be pretty used to that by now :)

I think its entirely possible. How much did Mamma Mia generate? Both the musical and the movie? The movie grossed more then Titanic in UK, iirc. And that was just ABBA music. People love this shit, and its not like they'd be targeting poor teens. Stones had the highest grossing tour with something like $600 millions, I think ABBA could top that, considering all the hoopla after the 30 years absence. And then you can make a movie about the tour, sell DVDs, memorabilia, TV rights, etc.
