Ever see that video clip from the 90s where they interviewed black people about white ppl and the general response was like "They cool with me" Pre internet days. Have you ever looked at comments in "black spaces" or similarly race based online groups? It's literally some of the most racist shit Ive ever read and it's not a few cherry picked comments, I may start copying a few posts for references. They take any "microaggression" or act by a "yt" person as white supremacy. A growing trend of black/asian animosity. Like the sprt of stuff that if it was a "white space" would be deemed as the new Kkk or something. Constant comments like "Why do YT people insist on involving themselves in stuff thats none of theor business" but also "Black groups are always so inviting and YT spaces are always so exclusive and non inviting/pro privacy" And Im not blaming black people for this, thats sort of part of the problem, see 1 or a few ppl of a certain group and madd labeling them all as aligned with a certain behaviour. And this idea that of yt privelege so many think everything just gets handed to us, and on the same token these same posters don't see the blatant racism they are spouting. Now, I live in Philly, 2/3 of the people I associate with daily are black, I rarely hear this sort of thing from them. So Im starting to wonder how much of this is intentionally antagonizing?how much has been derived from seeing intentionally antagonizing shit for so long? And yes we see the reaction to this as well.James woods posting the opposite resctionary stuff to this. |
