Your country is a useful refueling stop. At least you have some value.

It won't stop. That would require you taking care of yourself. That's expensive and bold. 2 things you lack.

Plus reform is going to be in charge asap.

NaMBLA:

It's happening.

Reform winning the GE isn't. It hasn't got the backing. Sure it gets high polls, but it's also utterly hated by everyone else. It's hit a ceiling. It's also got near complete disoptimal voter distribution - as a party it is worse placed to actually win MPs.

Also it's full of shit ex Tory failures, and led by a pro Putin fifth columnists, and the right wing populists also hate the US and make stupid decisions.

They are actually the hypothetical govt most likely in practice to kick the US out without understanding the implications (cf Brexit), with the exception no of Labour under Corbyn (which also ain't happening).

Papers full of stories today that the UK is vetoing use of Fairford and Diego Garcia for attacks on Iran until the US can provide a legal basis for any strikes.

ROFL. Who would have guessed that spending a year politically attacking the UK govt, endlessly reneging on trade deals, threatening our allies and siding with Putin would lead to the UK govt playing hardball back.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

I have been telling Prime Minister Keir Starmer, of the United Kingdom, that Leases are no good when it comes to Countries, and that he is making a big mistake by entering a 100 Year Lease with whoever it is that is “claiming” Right, Title, and Interest to Diego Garcia, strategically located in the Indian Ocean. Our relationship with the United Kingdom is a strong and powerful one, and it has been for many years, but Prime Minister Starmer is losing control of this important Island by claims of entities never known of before. In our opinion, they are fictitious in nature. Should Iran decide not to make a Deal, it may be necessary for the United States to use Diego Garcia, and the Airfield located in Fairford, in order to eradicate a potential attack by a highly unstable and dangerous Regime — An attack that would potentially be made on the United Kingdom, as well as other friendly Countries. Prime Minister Starmer should not lose control, for any reason, of Diego Garcia, by entering a tenuous, at best, 100 Year Lease. This land should not be taken away from the U.K. and, if it is allowed to be, it will be a blight on our Great Ally. We will always be ready, willing, and able to fight for the U.K., but they have to remain strong in the face of Wokeism, and other problems put before them. DO NOT GIVE AWAY DIEGO GARCIA!

Yeah, apparently he started whining again about this after we told him he hasn't got permission to use them on Iran.

Let's recall the situation:

In his first term, he didn't help us in the diplomatic pressure when the main court rulings happened.

Biden pressured the UK into this particular solution.

Trump has signed off on it three separate times, and then reneged again.

Is it any wonder that the result is that the tuk isn't particularly interested in involving itself in whatever fucked up little war crimes the US is planning?

It's unreliable, can't be trusted to keep its word for five minutes, and takes delight in trying to work with local opposition parties to undermine the govt.

So why the fuck are we going to go into bat for the US on this?

Nah. Fuck em.

There's no need to be that way, Seb. Just do what Trump would do if the situation was reversed. You have something he needs, so use that leverage for everything you can milk it for.

Maybe secure a free trade agreement for the UK over the weekend.

Maybe some technology transfer to help the UK along with it's 6th generation fighter.

Nothing is to big to ask for unless Trump can get a better deal elsewhere.

Murder:

"Maybe secure a free trade agreement for the UK over the weekend."

He wouldn't stick to it.

"Maybe some technology transfer to help the UK along with it's 6th generation fighter."

I'm not sure there's anything BAe needs particularly, and the idea is to be ITAR free for third parties.

This is the basic problem with Trump - you can't do a deal with him for anything other than cash in hand.

NaMBLA:

No, no, against the US. Very different.

Same thing. You want us to treat you as an enemy either way. We won't. Because you are powerless. Lol. Your actual leaders, especially the ones who are about to replace starmer, will be much more reasonable than you.

Lol impotent left wing rage is hilarious.
