The Rise and Fall of.
In my life I've read a few books that dealt with the 'Rise and Fall'. Roman Empire, Third Reich among them.
Now in my eighties I have come to the realization that I have lived through one of them.
I am currently witnessing the Fall of this 'Republic'.

I've witnessed the 'Rise' from segregation. When people were barred from voting, weren't permitted to drink water from water fountains based on race. Yet those barred from sharing water fountains, were often the people who prepared food for white people.

I've lived through HUGE advancements in medical sciences. From the days when the first thing you did when diagnosed with cancer, was to call the Funeral Parlor to make arrangements, to now when millions are cured or have much longer lives. When Polio had us all scared witless to now it as rare. From when many childhood diseases killed to now, when we have vaccines that prevent those diseases and more on the way (possibly).(?)

Now, I sadly realize that I'm witnessing the 'Fall' of this great Republic. Where the laws that our forefathers have put in place to protect ALL of us are being crushed. Our civil protections are being thrown under the heel of a Dictatorship.

It seems that our protections have been thrown out. We have an agency that has been given license to grab anyone off the street or in their place of labor, even when they are trying to follow the legal procedures that are once proud forefathers established. They are not required to bring those arrested or more properly snatched up, into a jail to be booked. Those people are not even being arraigned in front of a judge. There are NO formal charges because technically, they weren't arrested and weren't incarcerated. There is no obligation to acknowledge that they ever existed. The arresting officers aren't identified and many are masked. Drive unmarked vehicles that apparently can't be traced.

If it looks like a Dictatorship, acts like one, then it's a Dictatorship. RIP USA.
