tumbleweed the wanderer	Thu May 15 14:10:03 what is this thing? http://ibb.co/5XcGv4QT it was inserted along a coaxial cable line coming into a house & then into a cable modem (w/ unknown thing inserted right before modem connection), presumably added by an Xfinity (cable company) person

tumbleweed the wanderer	Thu May 15 20:34:51 i found "cs6-860 ppc 426" etched on it... so googling, it seems perhaps a 'cable simulator' (though don't see any particularly matching images) supposedly "A cable simulator will compensate for differential frequency losses across a length of cable by attenuating signal levels of higher frequencies until they equal signal levels of lower frequencies" so i guess i'll let it stay there thanks
