Haha apparently you can't delete your threadz account without deleting your instagram... like a crazy ex girlfriend who refuses to let you go haha

That's always been the lamest concern trolling.

OMG you can't call Elon Musk on his bullshit without deleting your "x" account!

What? No. You can delete your Twitter account and it won't effect any other social account.

But since a shit ton of people got duped into linking their insta to threads when they first created their threads account, they are now finding they cannot delete their threads account without also deleting their Instagram account which has probably existed for over a decade.

It's a clever, albeit underhanded, way to make sure the threads account number remains high even of no one is using it.

Also apparently the problem is threads is filled with influencers spouting off shit lol. Meanwhile X has reporters/news outlets using the platform which again is why it remains more prevalent.

Threads for example wouldn't allow trump or tucker to use their platform. X does and gets massive traffic because people want to watch it and hear from a former president.

People trying to destroy the country should not be given a platform.

Ah okay. So the entire Democratic Party and MSM should be banned from Threads then.

Yes, for trying to make sure that all eligible citizens can vote like the Constitution says they can.

Even you have to admit that your parameters for "destroying the country" are pretty arbitrary.

Rugian, you sort of have to give murder a pass. He is older. I do the same courtesy for patom. Did the same for Ole hot rod. Old timers have the luxury of not being ideologically sound or consistent.

I don't think search was that pivotal? I never use the Twitter app to find a Twitter user. I just Google the person and add Twitter and go from there.

*but I don't really use Twitter at all beyond looking at things from an external url*

Maybe if I was using my account more often I'd stay inside the app

No, this is about keyword search in the app. For example finding posts bitching about "Tuberville".

Does anyone have a Thread-account yet? I have not created one. I have not even bothered to check and see if I can create an account. Earlier, EU-countries were locked out from it.

I don't think the EU allows it yet.

When users went to Threads to search for content related to “covid” and “long covid,” they were met with a blank screen that showed no search results and a pop-up linking to the website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Meta acknowledged in a statement to The Washington Post that Threads is intentionally blocking the search terms and said that other terms are being blocked, but the company declined to provide a list of them. A search by The Post discovered that the words “sex,” “nude,” “gore,” “porn,” “coronavirus,” “vaccines” and “vaccination” are also among blocked words.

“The search functionality temporarily doesn’t provide results for keywords that may show potentially sensitive content,” the statement said, adding that the company will add search functionality for terms only “once we are confident in the quality of the results.”
