Spoilers.

Good premiere. Hopefully they flash back to the battle on the Fist of the First men. Really good special effects in the episode though. Dragons looked superb and the giant looked solid too. Looking forward to this season, especially episode nine.

Book discussion spoilers

Anyone else think Melisandre is using a glamorous on her body to appear attractive when she is in fact some sort of dead being not unlike a wright... Or one of the others even? In her POV in DWD she thinks about how she doesn't need to eat and no one has a clue as to how much she has sacrificed to get her abilities.

I have other theories, can discuss more if you fags care too.

@YS - Recall the warlocks of Qarth felt their magic was stronger around the dragons. In fact the dragons seemingly brought magic back into the world. At least as the warlocks admit, made them stronger. So dragons or being in the vicinity of dragons make magic more powerful. Mel thought there was a dragon in dragon stone, perhaps she is wrong and the dragon is frozen in the wall. Just like she is wrong about Azor Ahai being Stannis.

Perhaps the dragon frozen in the wall is the reason there is some level of magical barrier with it. As cold hands couldn't venture through it nor can the Others... Yet anyhow.

Anyone else think Jon might be the son of Lyanna and Rhaegar? Rhaegar's last word was her name, and she mysteriously died with three Kingsguard protecting her. Ned thought of Robert's bastards, then his thoughts drifted to Jon, Lyanna , and Rhaegar. Finally, Daenerys has a vision of a three-headed dragon in the House of the Undying, and thinks to herself that "there must be a third", Rhaegar having had two children with Elia.

Jon's freed from his vows to the Watch due to dying at the end of book 5. He has a powerful red priestess who will bring him back, and purge the Snow right out of him. He'll be less winter and more fire. Also, dragonfire will kill the Others.

BE is a pretty good show but not great. In the crime drama arena you have sopranos and breaking bad as great shows. BE is meant to be entertaining. Wire, sopranos and breaking bad are meant to be entertaining while also providing social commentary.

GoT is entertainment as well but there is literally nothing else like it on TV so it has lower expectations.

Also spoilers

Jon Snow is Lyannas child, presumably not bastard as targaryens were polygamists... Which means once he is legitimized by Stannis he will have a bet VHter claim to the iron throne than Dany

Meant to say rheagar and lyanna were married, secretly meaning their child would be legitimate. Once someone who knows the truth comes out and declares it.who that person ends up being is a mystery. Howland reed most likely. Or perhaps Bran will see the ceremony through one of his trees.

And because Elia was infertile, and the original Aegon had two wives, Rhaegar could easily legitimize a secret marriage if it occurred.
