rank | Sun Sep 19 22:05:38 2010 http://bel...ch-and-state-came-from-hitler/ Video of comments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kh4xhem8tM article: Christine O'Donnell isn't the only Delaware Tea Party candidate making waves. The seat in the House of Representatives currently held by Republican Mike Castle -- who was defeated by O'Donnell in Tuesday's Senatorial primary -- is also up for grabs. The Republican primary for that office was won by Tea Partier Glen Urquhart, and it turns out that his political positions may be even more unique than O'Donnell's. "Do you know, where does this phrase 'separation of church and state' come from?" Urquhart asked at a campaign event last April. "It was not in Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists. ... The exact phrase 'separation of Church and State' came out of Adolph Hitler's mouth, that's where it comes from. So the next time your liberal friends talk about the separation of Church and State ask them why they're Nazis." Yes, that's right my friends, Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, author of the Declaration of Independence and the Virginia Statute on Religious Liberty was a Nazi: Mr. President To messers Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut. Gentlemen The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing. Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. [Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from prescribing even those occasional performances of devotion, practiced indeed by the Executive of another nation as the legal head of its church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties. I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association assurances of my high respect & esteem. (signed) Thomas Jefferson Jan.1.1802. |

Man do you have to be a wierdo nut to be a teabagger or something where the fuzz do they find these people. Hot Rod defends them all of course and would vote for a republican who casts spells on people and had picnics on satanic altars cause hes a libertarian if that makes sense in hot rod land |

Adolf Hitler

rank | Sun Sep 19 23:34:36 2010 "The original text reads: "...I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."[1] The phrase was quoted by the United States Supreme Court first in 1878, and then in a series of cases starting in 1947. The phrase appears nowhere in the U.S. Constitution." "thus building a wall of separation between Church & State." "separation of church and state..." Different words = different meaning. Give it some thought. As for Hitler, hard telling if he actually said that or not. All I was able to find out is he said many conflicting things about religion, that he wanted to create a state church controlled by the Nazis, and that he never renounced his Catholicism. |

rank | Sun Sep 19 23:38:09 2010 ^ lol you fucking moron |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Sun Sep 19 23:40:48 2010 ""separation of church and state..." Different words = different meaning. Give it some thought." It was his own fucking words you fucking cunt, not a quote from the liberals. You fucking fucking fucking bastard |

rank | Mon Sep 20 00:08:38 2010 This is why America is failing. People don't understand the language that they claim should become their national language. There is no semantic difference between those two statements. They are both very clear in their meaning that the United States government can not support or appear to support any one religion over any others. |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Mon Sep 20 00:11:40 2010 "There is no semantic difference between those two statements" He knows this...come on its Hot Cunt, hes just making up any excuses he can think of on the fly, and since he's unintelligent, so are his excuses, and then everyone chases him round and round in circles trying to debate him and thus falls into his stupid little games. |
ehcks
rank | Mon Sep 20 00:13:36 2010 I know, I know. I just can't help it sometimes. I like to try to debate. I'm well aware that he eventually finds himself in a corner and just makes shit up off the top of his head and runs away when everyone's confused. |
Hot Rod
rank | Mon Sep 20 01:55:31 2010 Learn to quote properly please. "thus building a wall of separation between Church & State." "separation of church and state..." Different words = different meaning. Give it some thought. |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Mon Sep 20 02:01:07 2010 Your slutty mom is rotting in a hole in the ground rod. That makes me laugh. How does it make you feel, you snivelling cunt? |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Mon Sep 20 02:12:06 2010 Waiting for you to prove hitler said 'of' in german, btw, you fuckinh cunt. Hurry up, little skinhead thug. |
PhunkyPhishStyle
rank | Mon Sep 20 02:21:44 2010 Hot Rod, the wall analogy is superfluous. The correct comparison would be: "separation between Church and State." vs. "separation of church and state..." I do fail to see the different meaning though, and therefore kindly ask you to point it out for me. |
miltonfriedman
rank | Mon Sep 20 02:27:53 2010 Oh my, molester Rod is trolling and derailing another thread. |
Rugian
rank | Mon Sep 20 02:32:47 2010 Regardless of the specific word "between" or "or," Rod, you have to agree that this asshole's comment that anyone who argues for separation of church and state is a Nazi was blatantly unacceptable and unamerican. |

rank | Mon Sep 20 19:42:11 2010 still nothing from roddy, eh? |

rank | Mon Sep 20 22:32:56 2010 Dude the best he has is to argue things that are damn meaningless like or or between |

rank | Mon Sep 20 22:38:02 2010 It depends on what your definition of the word "is" is. |

Cold Rod
rank | Mon Sep 20 22:58:13 2010 Now a random quote from a dead guy. By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime. -Benjamin Rush |
Hot Rod
rank | Mon Sep 20 23:04:38 2010 I have been think about the difference between the two for a couple of days and I even did some research. 'Of' is a tricky little word that I just could not pin down to what it means to me in this particular instance. I know in my own mind there is a difference, but I cannot pin it down. Therefore, I must concede the point. |
Madc0w
rank | Tue Sep 21 06:16:02 2010 Well, at least you are starting to realize how wrong you are. |
Hot Rod
rank | Tue Sep 21 06:22:04 2010 MadCow, I have admitted more of my errors than *ALL* of the liberals combined in the last nine years. You guys just will not admit it when you are wrong. It is very frustrating. |

rank | Tue Sep 21 12:12:19 2010 Actually, this is like the first or second time in living memory. |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Tue Sep 21 12:40:53 2010 Not to mention noone has ever been so badly wrong so many times in the history of UP as Dinosaur Rod |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Tue Sep 21 12:41:58 2010 Nor so horrendously arrogant about being so wrong towards those who are right |
saiko
rank | Tue Sep 21 12:43:22 2010 Or that he says he's conceding even though he knows in his own mind that there is a difference :) |
Adolf Hitler
rank | Tue Sep 21 12:50:58 2010 Indeed. He knows he's right but since he cant prove it he's not going to argue it. Classic Dino Rod. Its like when he apologizes: I SAID SORRY WHAT DO YOU FUCKING LIBERALS WANT FROM ME??? I HAVE HAD IT WITH YOU LIBERALS. DON'T TRIP OVER YOUR DILDO AND BANG YOUR HEAD WHILE YOU ARE DOING YOUR VICTORY DANCE I HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THAN WASTE TIME WITH YOUR LIES NOW YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY. -30- |
