Member | Mon Feb 08 17:27:36 Then, if you operate/live in south carolina, you must register as a "subversive organization" - and pay a $5 tax to do so. http://raw...vities-registration-act-force/ http://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t23c029.htm LOL. Check out the registration form: http://fitsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/SubversiveAgentForm.pdf |

Member | Mon Feb 08 17:35:53 How do americans manage to choke down so much cock without their gag reflex being triggered? |
ehcks
Member | Mon Feb 08 17:47:24 You mean "Don't" like. This will be thrown out as unconstitutional, but at least TRY to get the reason correct. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 17:51:38 "When a government fails to protect those rights, it is not only the right, but also the duty of the people to overthrow that government" - The Declaration of Independence How do you get "DON'T like" out of that? From the article: By "subversive organization," the law means "every corporation, society, association, camp, group, bund, political party, assembly, body or organization, composed of two or more persons, which directly or indirectly advocates, advises, teaches or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States [or] of this State." |

Member | Mon Feb 08 18:08:18 So as long as you don't "associate" with anyone, you're ok. Yeah, that's fair. |
river of blood
Member | Mon Feb 08 18:15:04 Well, as long as you don't associate with anyone who ALSO likes the declaration of independence.... or shares any other notion about how government receives it's authority from the people. Otherwise you have 30 days to register or go to prison for 10 years. Sweet. |

Is South Carolina fucking retarded or what? Enjoy getting your stupid law assraped in court, faggots. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 18:25:37 "To easily" should be "peaceably to" No idea how that happened. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 18:31:30 Apparently Virginia has passed the same law. I'm searching for a link. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 18:36:40 Rugian, I'd like to hear you (and various others, but you in particular) speculate about why they would compose and pass such an egregious law. |

' Isn't it obvious? the way that's written, even a violent assembly is constitutional. By specificly stating, peaceful, you prevent a riot from being constitutional. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 21:31:52 We are preparing to have a revolution of sorts in about 7 months... What are they going to do out law elections? |

Member | Mon Feb 08 21:48:57 Would be worth the five bucks to grab a couple of friends and register. This is one of those stupid things put in place for just in case a suspected terrorist can't be proven guilty. Kind of like getting Capone on tax evasion. Is a bit different though. If you are planning on blowing up an airport but get caught before you actually try you could get off in court. If you do then they can charge you for not getting a licence before planning this event you didn't carry out. It is stupid and will probably be overturned first time it is used. |

Member | Mon Feb 08 21:53:24 Almost certainly but hey you get my point. This particular law is extraordinarily retarded. Even by the usual standards foisted upon us by state and local officials. |

Member | Tue Feb 09 13:29:41 Yes, I registered as The Federal Reserve Bank of New York. They seemed to meet all of the criteria in spades. And now they owe me $5 for the filing fee to which I'm assessing a 100% late charge compounded daily. Sorry, but that's my corporation's policy. |

Member | Thu Feb 11 06:06:37 On February 4, the quasi-humor, quasi-news, quasi-BSing-for-the-sake-of-BSing website FITSNews ran a story that was almost accurate: Anyway, in the long and storied history of utterly retarded legislation in South Carolina, we may have finally found the legal statute that takes the cake for sheer stupidity, which we think you’ll agree is saying something. It’s called the “Subversive Activities Registration Act,” and it requires terrorists in South Carolina to … get this … register with the S.C. Secretary of State’s office before they start plotting to violently overthrow the government. From the law: Every member of a subversive organization, or an organization subject to foreign control, every foreign agent and every person who advocates, teaches, advises or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States, of this State or of any political subdivision thereof by force or violence or other unlawful means, who resides, transacts any business or attempts to influence political action in this State, shall register with the Secretary of State on the forms and at the times prescribed by him. In fact, that law wasn't aimed at terrorists at all. It was created in 1951 and aimed at communists. The tip-off to this is the language "overthrowing the government of the United States...by force or violence." which is what was in the Communist Party platform before the government started putting people in jail for that kind of thing and they changed it. (Another likely tip-off should have been the $5 fee for registration. When was the last time you paid a government fee that was less than $45?) But whatever. FITSNews chuckles at those silly South Carolinians with old legacy laws on the books and life goes on. Unless you're an idiot named Daniel Tencer writing over at Lefty website The Raw Story and nutbar conspiracy theorist website Prison Planet who...shall we say, embellished a little bit: Terrorists who want to overthrow the United States government must now register with South Carolina's Secretary of State and declare their intentions -- or face a $25,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison. The state's "Subversive Activities Registration Act," passed last year and now officially on the books, states... From there it went to Huffington Post and DKos and that's when it went viral. Now idiot Leftists all over the web are chortling about it and claiming it was recently passed by the "scared" South Carolina legislature. One tard then sent it to me, calling it South Carolina's "terrorist registration law." Congratulations, Leftists. You are dumb. |
